Chapter Two.

NEXT MORNING 

Leila locked herself in her room until the anniversary was over.

She knew that news of her not attending her own wedding anniversary would be flying around the pack, but she didn't care.

She wanted to drown herself in her sorrow, but she remembered that she hadn't prepared for Alpha Enzo.

“ I'm pathetic, aren't I?” She asked her wolf, Eila, but got no reply.

“ I guess you're also mad at me. I'm in love with him and can't stop myself. It's not his fault, I'm at fault for not being able to bear him a pup.”

“ Let's just pretend like we saw nothing.” 

She concluded and left her room, heading towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Alpha Enzo.

She had always prepared dinner for him every day for the past three years, but he never touched her food.

It has become a part of her that she couldn't stop the habit anymore.

As she dragged her feet to the kitchen, the pack’s maids bowed their heads but their gaze was that of hatred and some were pity.

Leila didn't care about their stares.

“ Are you a fool, Leila?” Eila, her wolf, finally spoke up.

“ No, I'm not.” She replied.

“ He clearly shoved it in your face for the past three years that he didn't want us, let's move on already!” Eila yelled but Leila was fast to shut her off.

“ My head is a mess right now. I need to think.” She said to Eila before entering the kitchen fully.

She began to prepare breakfast for Alpha Enzo as usual and in less than an hour, she was done.

Leila set the dining table and waited for Alpha Enzo to arrive.

She knew he spent the night with his new mate, but she didn't care, all she wanted was his love and nothing else.

It was already past 11 am, and yet, he still hadn't arrived, causing Leila to feel uneasy.

 “ Does he love her that much?” She muttered sadly.

“ Even if he doesn't love me, must he shove it on my face?” 

She said inwardly and bit her lips, almost drawing out blood.

The pushing of the entrance door made Leila's eyes lit up in happiness.

She smiled as she watched Alpha Enzo walk into the pack house.

“ I prepared breakfast for you, come eat breakfast.” Leila walked towards him and held his hand.

He threw a cold glare at her before responding, “ I have already had breakfast.” 

He took his hand from hers roughly, his eyes filled with hatred.

“ Where did you sleep last night?” Leila asked, just when Alpha Enzo was about to head upstairs.

“ Do I have to report my every move to you? Who do you think you're? My mother?” Alpha Enzo turned around, his eyes blazing with anger.

“ I'm your wife, Enzo! Don't I have the right to know where you slept last night? You've never had sex with me for the past one year after finding out that I'm barren. I'm also a woman, Enzo. I have feelings too!” 

Leila hit her chest with her folded fist, as tears slipped from the corners of her eyes.

“ You said it yourself, didn't you?” He chuckled and took slow steps towards her. 

“ You're barren, remember? You can't bear a pup, so why should I acknowledge you as my wife?”

Those words felt like knives, slicing through Leila's heart.

“ What?” She couldn't believe her ears.

“ Yes, and that reminds me, someone is already carrying my pup, so I don't see you as my wife anymore.” Alpha Enzo replied, his eyes darkening as he spoke.

“ I'm aware that you already have someone carrying your pup.” Leila muttered.

“ So you're aware and you feign ignorance? Is that how much you love me?” 

He smirked as he closed the gap between them, causing Leila's breath to hitch.

“ Too bad, I don't even feel a slightest love for you. My heart has never skipped a beat at the sight of you, and also, my dick has never risen at the sight of your naked body.”

The last part of his words cut through Leila's heart like a dagger, causing her to stagger backwards.

Her legs were shivering, it couldn't hold in her weight anymore and she fell to the ground.

“ So why did you marry me? Why then did you mark me on our wedding night?” 

Leila asked through a broken voice, her eyes red and swollen with tears.

“ I needed a pup and you were the available one. I found out that you were in love with me then, so I had to marry you, but since you've proven to be a barren bitch, I had to take other measures. I need an heir to continue my legacy.” Alpha Enzo squatted in front of Leila.

“ That reminds me, here is the divorce paper and alimony, this amount would be enough to start a new life.” 

He took out a folded file from his pocket and threw it at Leila.

“ What…what…is this?” She stuttered.

“ What do you think?” He smirked and stood up as she slowly took the paper from the ground to go through it.

“ Di…di..divorce papers?” She asked, raising her gaze towards Alpha Enzo.

“ Yes, sign the divorce papers and take this ten million dollars to start a life for yourself.” He replied.

“ Did I ever mention to you that I need your money?” Leila stood up from the ground and threw the divorce papers at Alpha Enzo.

“ It seems you do. I need to introduce my new Luna, so I need you out of my pack.” He replied.

“ I regret the day I ever met you.” Leila gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with hatred.

“ I, Alpha Enzo, reject you, Leila Ryvan as my mate and the Luna of my pack.” He said, his voice cold without any form of warmth in it.

Leila staggered backwards as she felt the mate bond being severed.

She fell to the ground, her eyes red with tears as she clutched her chest in pain.

Her head spinner and her breath wallowed.

“ I shouldn't see you or any of your belongings in this pack house once I get back.” 

He warned sternly and walked out of the house, leaving Leila to wallow in pain.
