Chapter Five.

After leaving the hospital, Leila couldn't get rid of the fact that she was pregnant with triplets.

Wasn't she confirmed to be barren?

How come she didn't get pregnant when she consummated the night of her wedding with Alpha Enzo?

Upon getting home, she met Bluey preparing dinner.

“ You're back, what did the doctor say?” Bluey asked, her eyes on Leila as she set the dining room.

“ I'm pregnant.” Leila dropped the bombshell, causing the plates in Bluey’s hand to slip to the ground.

“ What?” Her eyes widened in nothing but shock.

“ How come?” Bluey asked as she rushed to the sitting room to join Leila who was lost in thought, her face pale.

“ You were right? The fucking stranger I had a night stand poured his seeds into me, I'm fucking pregnant after three years of barrenness!” Leila suddenly burst into tears of joy.

“ Are you happy about this?” Bluey asked, staring at her best friend with a smile.

“ Of course, I'm happy! I wasn't able to give birth for three years, but now I got pregnant with Triplets, I should be happy, shouldn't I?” Leila smiled brightly.

“ You deserve it. Alpha Enzo is a jerk. He will surely regret this once he finds out.” Bluey smiled, stroking Leila’s hair.

“ That reminds me, I won't let him find out.” She said, determination laced her voice.

“ How do you intend to do that?” Bluey furrowed her brows.

“ I will leave for California in a week. I don't want him to think I'm a prostitute for getting pregnant two months after our divorce.” 

“ You still care about what he thinks about you?” Bluey scoffed.

“ I'm no more in love with him, but I just don't want him to find out.” 

“ Okay, fine. I will become a godmother soon!” Bluey threw her hands in the air excitedly.

FIVE YEARS LATER

" Ladies and gentlemen, please prepare for landing. Fasten your seatbelts, and return your seats and tray tables to their original position."

After landing, they stepped off the plane, the cool air of North America enveloped them.

Leila's triplets, Caleb, Zidarth, and Zinnia, stretched their arms, excitement filled their faces.

“ Welcome to North America, kids!” Leila said, smiling.

They had been waiting for this moment for months, and finally, they were here.

Zinnia, dressed in a bright pink dress, twirled around.

“ I love it here, Mommy! It's so big and noisy!”

Caleb, the tech enthusiast, was already scanning the surroundings, taking in every detail of the airport.

“ This airport is huge! It's bigger than the one in Cali, and moreover, I have never seen so many people in one place.”

Zidarth, the curious one, asked, “ Can we get some food, Mom?” I'm starving! I want a hot dog!”

Leila chuckled, “ Let's get our luggage first, then we'll grab some lunch, and maybe, we can even find a hot dog cart, then we go see your godmother, she's been dying to meet you all.” 

As they made their way to the baggage claim, Zinnia suddenly darted off towards a nearby vendor.

“ Mommy, look! Balloons! Can I get one, please?”

Leila’s heart skipped a beat as she rushed after Zinnia.

“ Wait, sweetie, don't go too far! Stay close to me.”

Zinnia was already engaged with the vendor, giggling and pointing at the colourful balloons.

Leila sighed in relief, grateful to find her daughter safe and sound.

Just then, a stranger approached them.

“ Excuse me ma'am.” 

Leila's instincts kicked in.

“ Yes, how may I help you?”

“ I know you very well.” The stranger smiled, causing Leila to frown.

She couldn't remember the stranger, as she had never met him in her life, even before she went to California.

Her eyes narrowed. “ What do you want?”

Before the stranger could respond, Zinnia tugged on Leila's hand. “ Mommy, can I get a balloon? Please?”

Leila hesitated, unsure of what to do next. She didn't want to be rude to the stranger, but her daughter's need was more important as well.

"Let's get the balloon later, sweetie," Leila said, trying to distract Zinnia.

But Zinnia was insistent. "No, Mommy, I want it now! Please?"

Leila relented, handing over a few dollars to the vendor. Zinnia squealed with delight as she received a bright pink balloon.

Before she could get the balloon for Leila, the stranger dragged her bag and ran away with it.

He was obviously a thief.

“ Thief! Thief!” Leila shouted on top of her voice, as the bag contained some important documents.

Her shouts and screams grabbed the attention of some people at the airport but none offered to help catch the thief.

Leila almost gave up when she saw a tall man run after the thief like the speed of lightning and in less than a minute, the thief was caught.

Leila ran with her kids to go get her bag and thank the person who helped her.

“ Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.” Leila smiled as she exhaled due to the small run.

“ You're welcome.” The man said, exhaling heavily as he glared at the thief.

“ You will spend a whole day in a cell.” The stranger glared and took his phone to call the police.

“ What is going on here, Neon?” Asked a deep voice, causing bothe the stranger and Leila to turn around.

Upon seeing who the voice belonged to, Leila's voice got caught in her throat and she hid her kids behind her, hiding their eyes from the stranger.

“ Alpha.” Neon bowed.

“ Alpha? He is an Alpha? I thought he was a male prostitute! Oh heavens!” Leila said inwardly.

Lycan Christen darted his eyes towards Leila and his thick brows furrowed together.

“ You!” His deep voice made Leila avoid his gaze.

“ Thank you for catching the thief, I would love to take my leave.” She rushed her words as she dragged her kids and was about to leave.

“ Are you seriously leaving, right now?” He asked, causing Leila to halt on her track without turning.

Neon frowned wondering how Lycan Christen knows Leila.

“ We don't have any business remember? I already paid you.”

 Leila replied without turning and made to leave again, but his next statement caused Adrenaline to rush down her spine.

“ These kids have an uncanny resemblance to me ... .are they mine?”
