Chapter One.

“Happy third year anniversary, Luna Leila!’’ a soft familiar voice said behind Leila’s ear, causing her to flinch a little.

‘’ You came, Bluey’’ Leila turned around with a smile on her face.

‘’ Why won’t I come? It’s my best friend’s wedding anniversary, of course, I had to come.’’ Bluey beamed her a smile as she held Leila’s hands in hers.

‘’ Thank you for coming, bestie. I really appreciate.’’ Leila said, almost moved to tears.

‘’ No, no, no tears today. Do you want to ruin your makeup?’’ Bluey asked and pulled Leila into a hug.

“ I thought you won't be able to meet up because of your work.” Leila said as they broke the hug.

“ I had to leave work as early as possible. I can't miss your anniversary for anything, and moreover, I can't find Alpha Enzo anywhere.” Bluey said, looking around in search of Alpha Enzo, Leila's husband.

“ He had some important meeting to attend with the Elders of the pack in his office, he would be here soon.” Leila replied, sadness enveloped her voice.

“ Why are you sad? Ever since you got married to Alpha Enzo, you've changed, Leila. You're no more cheerful like before.” 

Bluey said, locking gaze with Leila who let out a sigh.

“ I'm not happy because I can't give him a pup. I'm barren, Bluey.” 

Leila chuckled bitterly, her eyes clouded with sadness and her voice vulnerable.

“ Don't say that, Leila. You're not barren at all, it's not just your time to give birth to pups. The moon goddess knows everything and will surely give your pups when it's time.” Bluey said, trying to reassure her best friend.

“ I know you're trying to reassure me but there's no hope for me, Bluey. I won't be shocked if Alpha Enzo impregnates another lady due to my barrenness.” Leila let out a sad sigh.

“ He won't dare to do that. He loves you, remember?” Bluey asked, holding Leila's arms.

“ He doesn't.” She muttered.

“ I don't understand. What do you mean?” Bluey raised a brow.

“ He doesn't love me. Alpha Enzo got married to me because he needed a pup to be his heir, but as it seems, I haven't even gotten pregnant for once, let alone gotten a miscarriage.” Leila's voice was filled with vulnerability and sadness.

“ But ... .why did he claim to love you when he doesn't?” Bluey’s brows furrowed in confusion.

She had no idea why Alpha Enzo would pretend to love her best friend in gatherings and in a place filled with crowds, but in reality, he never loved or cared about her.

“ He didn't want people to perceive him as a bad Alpha.” Leila replied and sniffled slowly.

It was taking the last strength in her not to burst into tears in front of her best friend.

They were in the pack’s hall, which was decorated beautifully, with neon lights at every corner.

Leila and Alpha Enzo were celebrating their third year anniversary, but he was nowhere to be found, leaving only Leila to attend to the invited guests.

“ He is a jerk for doing such. A hypocrite.” Bluey gritted, her eyes red with anger.

“ I have been praying earnestly for a day that he would treat me right and love me for who I am, but I can't see that day forthcoming.” 

Leila said as a drop of tears left her eyes, leaving a trace on her makeup.

“ Where is he? I need to confront him! How dare he?” Bluey was raging.

She couldn't sit back and watch Alpha Enzo treat her best friend like she didn't matter.

“ Don't, Bluey….He will only get more angry with me.” 

Leila held Bluey's hand just before she could confront Alpha Enzo.

“ Divorce him right now, Leila. Why would you spend even a second with a man who never loved you for the past three years, are you a fool?” Bluey turned to Leila.

“ I can't divorce him. I love him so much, Bluey. It's not easy for me. I can't control my feelings for him.”

 Leila muttered, another tear, slipping the corners of her eyes.

“ Oh goodness! Fuck love!” Bluey yelled, grabbing the attention of the guests in the hall.

“ Let's go to my room.” 

 Leila held Bluey’s arm, dragging her upstairs, but the voice of a middle aged woman made them halt on their track.

“ Where do you think you're going?” 

The angry voice of the middle aged woman, made adrenaline rush through Leila’s body as she turned slowly.

“ M….mother.” she forced a smile.

“ Save it, barren woman! Where is my son?” Old Luna Rossa sneered.

“ What? Barren woman?” Bluey flared up as she turned around to face Old Luna Rossa.

“ Yes, what is she if she isn't barren?” Luna Rossa asked, glaring at Bluey.

“ Old woman, how dare you call my best friend barren? How many children did you give birth to other than Alpha Enzo?” 

Bluey walked down the stairs and wanted to confront Luna Rossa, but Leila was fast to stop her.

“ Please stop, Bluey.” She muttered.

“ Mother, I will get Alpha Enzo for you.” 

Leila muttered and walked upstairs, heading to Alpha Enzo's office.

Upon getting to his office, she wanted to knock but she heard moans coming from inside the office and her hands began to tremble.

“ Fuck me harder, Alpha!” A muffled moan came.

Tears slipped down Leila's eyes as she felt the world spin in front of her.

When she told Bluey that she wouldn't be surprised if her husband impregnated another lady, she was lying, because it hurts.

Her heart broke into thousands of pieces and her feet got stuck to the ground, making her unable to move from the door.

“ That was a hot sex. When are you going to divorce your barren wife? I'm five weeks pregnant for you." A soft voice said.

“ Soon baby, I can't wait to divorce her and make you my Luna. For the past three years, I have been looking for a pup but she never got pregnant for me.” Came the deep voice of Alpha Enzo.

“ Please divorce her quickly. I can't stand the sight of that bitch!” 

“ I have prepared the divorce papers. I will make her sign it tomorrow.”

 Alpha Enzo said, and before Leila could support herself, she slumped to the ground in front of the door.

“ Let's go, she will be waiting for me. Afterall, today is our third year wedding anniversary.” Alpha Enzo said, sarcasm filled his voice.

Leila dragged herself from the ground and left the office before Alpha Enzo could come out of his office and meet her standing there.

“ Where is my son?” Luna Rossa asked, upon seeing Leila, but she didn't reply.

“ Leila, are you okay?” 

Bluey asked worriedly, but she didn't reply, as she walked faster into her room and shut the door behind her.
