Rose's POV

I slowly opened my eyes, squinting against the harsh, sterile lights that illuminated the room. "Where am I?" I said, blinking away the remnants of sleep.

I tried to recall the events that led me to this unfamiliar place and the last thing I remembered was fainting after the gunshot and the burns were unbearable. How did I get here? Who saved me?

Slowly, my surroundings came into focus, and I found myself lying on a narrow hospital bed. My hearing slowly returned, and I could hear the rhythmic beeping of machines echoing n the room.

I groaned and tried to turn around but tubes snaked around me, connecting to one another, while a dull throbbing sensation pulsed through my body. I tried to move but found myself restrained by soft, restrictive bandages that wrapped around my whole body.

As I attempted to lift my head, a jolt of pain shot through my skull, causing me to wince.
