Rose's POV.

Adriel turned to me, his eyebrows creased with worry, "There's an urgent matter that requires my immediate attention," he said, his voice, urgent. "I need to leave, but don't worry, I promise I'll be back soon."

I felt a knot form in my stomach, and my pregnancy hormones kicked in as I didn't want him to leave me. I just found him and I didn't want to let him go. "But where are you going?" I asked, concerned. "Is everything okay?"

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself before answering. "I don't think so. My men need my help in dealing with an issue back at home."

My heart skipped a beat, realizing the seriousness of the situation. "Is it safe for you to go alone?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly. " Will you be taking striker with you? Won't you need him?"
