Chapter Thirty: Emily

The next day, early in the morning. Zeus had to leave for an important meeting in his father’s company so Mark didn’t see him around when he woke up. He wanted to talk to him about what was happening between him and his father and probably his brother too but Zeus avoided it the night before and went to sleep. Sighing deeply, Mark walked back into his room and a few seconds later, he heard a knock on his door. Mark opened the door and was a bit taken aback at the face of Zeus’s mother outside of his door.

“Good- -“ Mark wanted to greet her but was interrupted as she placed her fingers on his lips to stop him from saying anything further. Mrs. Ashford passed beside him and went into his room, Mark's eyes looked around suspiciously before he closed the door. He looked at her and traced her eyes to where she was looking before he realized his shirt was open.

Mark quickly went to sit on a couch far away from her. “Ma'am, is there anything you want to say to me?
