Evie
It was hell living with him.
“You know you can’t go out.” He chuckled as I was completely prepared to go and buy some new clothes for myself.
“I thought protecting someone meant giving them bodyguards and stuff. It doesn’t mean keeping them captive!” I exclaimed and sighed.
He shrugged. “Should’ve thought about it before working with Lucifer.”
“As if I had a choice,” I murmured.“Well go ahead but don’t bother me if Trevor finds you and kills you.”
“Isn’t he your friend? Why can’t you explain to him?”
The question was obviously ignored by him as he continued working on his laptop. I sat down on the couch, tired from being in the house all the time.
It has been two days since I am locked here and God knows when I will get to leave.“You’re only safe because Trevor can’t hurt you if you’re here and I’ve made my point pretty clear to him that I am not giving you up,” he closed his laptop and looked at me. “Which, technically, gives your life support in my hand.”
“Did I forget to tell you that you can die from mental trauma? Oh! I took some psychological classes back in the day… and ooh, the headache I gave to some people… sheesh…” I murmured loudly and he shook his head.“What do you think hurts more? Physical trauma or mental?” He stood up and smirked at me.
I raised my eyebrow, “Depends on the person.”
He walked towards me and towered over me. “If the person is you, then?”
It was true that I wasn’t as intimidated by him as a normal person should be, but I can’t lie that he looked like a freaking Greek God and his deep voice was sense-devouring.
His gaze was so penetrating as if he was reading through my soul and that really sent shivers down my spine.
“D-Depends on the person giving it.”He leaned down to match my height as I was sitting and said: “If It is me, then?”My breathing was getting uneven as my heartbeat kept increasing.
“Not sure.”
He got away and smirked. “Well, if you’d ever want to try and know, I’m here.”
I rolled my eyes at his satisfied face. He knew that he made me a little scared of him and that he, let me quote, “won”.
It was true that I couldn't win from him physically but I won’t break down till I have reached my limit.
I put up a small smile which made him sigh and continue working.___________________
I was just playing crosswords on my mobile when the doorbell rang. I looked up and he looked at me, confirming that I wasn’t expecting anyone.
He closed his work. “Get behind me,” he whispered and I nodded. I took a gun kept on his work table and got behind him.
He took out his too from his waistband and slowly opened the door.
A middle-aged man appeared and he had a warm smile on his face. “Oh son, this is no way to welcome your father!”
…
Damien looked at me and sighed. “What do you want?” He looked back at the man.
“Oh, I just— look who’s here! Evie Davies, am I right?”Fear crept into the extremities of my bones as this unknown man recognized me. He was his father — but how did he know me?
“Y-yes.”
“Don’t reply to him,” Damien spoke in between and closed the gate. Then he walked over to me, as if protecting me, and turned towards him again. “I asked, what do you want?”
“Now you’ve made this all bitter. You won’t let me meet my daughter-in-law?”
With the warm smile on his face, it was difficult to decipher his real intentions. Of course, he was bad — that’s why Damien attacked him — but now he was back.
Also, he was with Lucifer, which means that maybe Lucifer knows where I am.
“She has no such relations with you.” He stepped in front of me and blocked his direct contact. “You don’t get to ever see her again. Walk out of here and there will be no bloodshed.”
“Bloodshed? Oh, my poor son.” The man chuckled shamelessly, “You do remember that you lost, right?”
Damien reloaded his gun and pointed it at him.
“Maybe I will but you’ll be dead.”The man wasn’t intimated at all. He laughed.
“I see that you’ve got yourself a quite fearless man, Evie,” He again spoke to me, while I just kept my gun behind my back, trying to restrain myself from shooting him. “But do you know the price he would have to pay if he kept on doing this?”
“What?” I couldn’t help but ask.
Damien gave me a glare. “I told you not to—”
“Let me!” I demanded and looked back at the man.“His life will be destroyed if he doesn’t follow my orders. I am a very kind man, you see,” he said as he proceeded to sit on the couch. “I just asked him to marry you.”
My gaze shifted to Damien with a confused expression. Then, it occurred to me — those were the circumstances he was talking about when he first asked me to marry him.
I looked back at him.
“And he will.”
“Will he?” He shrugged. “Why don’t you ask him first?”I looked at him and he looked away. I went a little closer, so he couldn’t hear us. “Is he right?”
Damien looked at me and sighed. “I don’t plan to.”
“Why?”“I can’t let him win.”He was right to an extent.
“Does he really hold the power to ruin your life?”
He thought for some time before turning to the man.
“I will marry her,” his tone was sharp — sharper than usual, “But not now.”
“You have one more week, son.” The man got up. “I won’t wait for long. Happy wedding!”
Before Damien could say anything else, he walked out of the door. I looked at him in confusion, unaware of his further steps.
He turned to me. His eyes were filled with an emotion I couldn't understand and his forehead was covered in stress.
“Da—boss.” This was the third time I was about to call him by name.
He took a step toward me. I stood still because taking a step back would’ve been weak for me, which resulted in us being close.
A little too close.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, Evie.” His voice didn’t have the normal domination when he said this. “But I guess you have to get ready to call me Damien.”
Evie“But I guess you have to get ready to call me Damien.”I looked at him as my thoughts went all over the future. I was ready to be married to him — after all, that was the condition in exchange for my safety. But I didn’t imagine anything else than marriage.I didn’t imagine the thrill. I failed to think what I would be going through if I do that — how hard would it be to not fall for this bastard. He sighed and took a step back. “I’ve thought about it for a while but all the plans I made seem to fail.”I looked at him.“I don’t think I have much of a choice anymore. I will set the wedding day soon. All the preparations will be done. To avoid any backlashes, the wedding will be done as a grand one.”I slowly nodded my head. “But—”
Evie“Who was she?” I asked as I sat down on the bed.He looked at me with confusion. “What do you care about?”“Well, I am getting married to you.”He smirked. “I thought this was, and I will quote ‘kidnapping with permission’?”I rolled my eyes. “It sure is. I just want to make sure I am the only one you kidnap.”He chuckled. “Wow, you’re interesting.”“I know right. And I am so damn beautiful. Ain’t I, Damien?”His gaze shifted to my lips for a second, as if reminiscing our last encounter, and then he looked away. “Yeah, beautiful chicks dig me.”I raised my eyebrow. “Why is that plural?”“Why are you jealous?” He looked at me again and I sighed.Well
Evie I looked at Damien. “What?” I asked.“Nothing. Just no one has ever said that to me.” He looked away again. I sighed. Should I be happy that I was the first one to say that or be sad that so many people get fooled by his facade? “Well. So, you’re going to see your mom?”“I can’t leave you alone.” He sighed and looked at me. “So, go downstairs and sit down quietly. I have some work to do.” “I can take care of myself. You should go.”He ignored my words and left for his room anyway. I sighed and went downstairs. I remembered that I saw his password one time when he used it to open his phone. I wasn’t trying to steal his personal information — but I have the right to confirm that I am the only one he kidnaps. Ha! I smiled to myself thinking about all those moments. He is just so cute; I can’t believe that I am actually here with him. I mean… What do I have that is so special? I guess I will never know. “I’ll just work here,” I heard him say while he brought his laptop downst
Damien We reached the airport in a few minutes and sat down in our private plane. I looked over to her and she was quite amazed. “What? Never seen a private plane before?” I couldn’t help but ask, smirking. She rolled her eyes before looking around again, her beautiful eyes glistening with amazement. “Not really.” “Well, you should get used to this. Now that you’re going to be Mrs. Wright.” Her eyes flickered for a second and she looked at me, thinking about something. I could share the same emotions because the same feelings erupted inside me. Mrs. Wright. My wife. I smiled to myself. Even though the consequences leading up to right now weren’t pretty, I couldn't think how this could be anything bad. I didn’t have any problems with her — and for some reason, I thought that it was only good since I might never find someone like her again. EvieI looked at him.“I mean,” his voice was suddenly deep. “How long do you think you can control yourself around me?”I took a deep breath, trying to calm my overwhelming desire to give in.“F-Forever,” I whispered and looked away. I picked up a lamp kept on a small table to avoid his gaze but he came closer and took the lamp.“So, you have no problem if I do this.”“Do what?” I was compelled to look at him.He smirked and pulled me closer. Before I could react, he kissed me and we fell onto the bed. I kissed him back and he devoured my mouth with his tongue, making my senses go wild. His kiss was like feathers. Not only soft but so beautiful, so mesmerizing… that I was completely lost.He parted and looked into my eyes. We both breathed heavily before he kissed the side of my mouth and then kissed the nape of my neck.“Damien…” I whispered. His rasped breathing was more evident than mine. He stopped kissing me and joined our foreheads — something that made me feel that his feeling
Evie I was taken aback by his sweet gesture. We had been close for a while but things were getting better day by day, and my hopes were starting to touch the sky. Maybe he could actually be my soulmate. The one who’ll love me as much as I would love him. Maybe it didn’t have to be just a business marriage. He smiled. “Now, you should take a shower. I mean unless you want to stare at me for the rest of the time.” I blushed and sneaked a glance at his bare chest, blushing even more. He was so sexy, and he was actually… good. He made me feel safe and secure. Even after what happened with Lucifer and almost the betrayal, he thought he had, he trusted me again and I knew in my heart that I wouldn’t ever betray him. “No, I-I will shower.” I stepped back and with a smile, took my dress and went into the bathroom. I could feel his gaze on me all the while until I locked the door. ___________ Damien My fingers went through the pile of congratulatory cards in my hand. The wedding hadn’t
Damien's POV"And that is supposed to...what? Interest me?" I tilted my head in sarcasm and chuckled as I sat comfortably in my seat. "You have a death wish?"The man shivered with fear. I let out a calm breath."This is the third time you've wasted my time. You know that if you irritate me…" I left it at that because I knew my smirk was enough to complete the sentence. He had visible fear on his face. "I--I-am sorry, boss," he stuttered. "I-I will make this right—"I took out my gun and pointed it at him. His eyes widened and he took a few shaky steps back from my desk. "B-boss---""You stupid pitiful fools," I chuckled and got up. "You don't even know when to shut up, do you?"He looked down and continued taking deep breaths. I turned off the safety of my gun and he squinted his eyes."Last words?"
Damien’s POVI was just finishing up my documents when someone knocked on the door.“Come in,” I said without looking up.“Oh, Damien. Always working!”I looked up, irritated. “Why are you here?”“Don’t be such a jerk, Damien.” She walked toward me and leaned over on the table, showing her cleavage. I looked sideways and then down at my paper, shattering her intentions.“Stop working!” She said excitedly so and was about to take my document away when I caught her hand in between. “You should walk out of here,” I said with a dark voice.“You know I get really tingly when you use your threatening tone. It is so… sexy.”I was reaching my level of frustration with her.“You want to seduce me, don’t you?&rdq
