Evie
“Who was she?” I asked as I sat down on the bed.
He looked at me with confusion. “What do you care about?”
“Well, I am getting married to you.”
He smirked. “I thought this was, and I will quote ‘kidnapping with permission’?”
I rolled my eyes. “It sure is. I just want to make sure I am the only one you kidnap.”
He chuckled. “Wow, you’re interesting.”
“I know right. And I am so damn beautiful. Ain’t I, Damien?”
His gaze shifted to my lips for a second, as if reminiscing our last encounter, and then he looked away. “Yeah, beautiful chicks dig me.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Why is that plural?”
“Why are you jealous?” He looked at me again and I sighed.Well, only if I knew the answer to that question.
“We’ll leave tomorrow morning. You need help with packing your stuff?”
“Nah. I don’t have much to take. I will buy stuff with your money, after all you kidnapped me, meaning you’ll feed me.”He tilted his head with a ‘done’ face.
“Well, great to know that, Ms. Kidnapped.”I smiled innocently and he shook his head, leaving for his room. Irritating him gives me so much pleasure!

Damien
I went to my room and closed the door. A sigh escaped my lips. I don’t know what is so different about Evie — she is just so interesting and so… brave. I mean, I used to scare the hell out of people with one look, and then there she is — calling me all kinds of stuff to my face.
And I don’t say anything. I don’t even mind… I seem to like it.
How?My hand went up to my lips as I remembered kissing the side of her mouth some hours ago. We had done a lot more than that before, but we didn’t feel all that at that time. It was normal — crazy hot — but normal.
This felt divine.
I sat down and took out my phone.
‘Three missed calls from Amara’
I exhaled. As I unlocked my phone, I saw some text messages from her.
‘Amara:
Damien? Are you there?I know you’re angry but this is beyond the both of us. It is about her.Damien???Are you ignoring me!?Damn it, Damien. Fuck you.’Well, that was an adventure.
I tossed it on the bed and went to take a shower. People fuck me all the time, don’t they?

I made the phone calls and arranged the private plane to Vietnam the next day. I had no idea why I was trying so hard to keep her safe. If she were dead, Marcus couldn’t blame me or force me to marry her.
But I didn’t like that thought for a second.
I wanted her alive.
I wanted to marry her.And that sucked ass!
“Are you done?” I heard a sweet voice and I turned toward the door. Evie was standing with a wicked smirk.
“This is my room. You need to knock — unless your mind and plans are dirty.”She shrugged. “Not like you mind me.” She welcomed herself inside and sat on the bed while I looked at her with interest.
“Why are you here?” I asked.“Amara. Who is she?”“Seriously?”
She smiled innocently. “Tell me or I will find out for myself.”
“Why don’t you try?” I couldn’t lose the opportunity.
She had the same smile when she came closer and took the phone from my jeans. I didn’t resist because she probably wouldn’t be able to unlock the phone anyway.
She opened it!
My eyes widened and I tried to take it back, but she ran out of the room. I ran behind her and she laughed loudly.
“You’ve—you’ve taken me for a fool?” She panted as we were running for some time in the big house and shouted.I followed behind quietly. When I realized that she was too engrossed in the phone and kept running without looking forward, I took a shorter route and came in front of her.
When she ran right into me — I held her hand and her eyes met mine. Her smile vanished and a sincere expression made its arrival. Her eyes were shining like pearls and her lips were as red as roses. Her skin was flawless and her blue eyes were mesmerizing.
I stared back at her with love and none of us broke eye contact for some time. She finally looked away and I took the advantage to take my phone back.
It was a little awkward — even for me — so I changed the topic.
“What’d you find?” I asked.“That you are a dick for a brother.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Excuse me?”
“That you are—”“No—No need to repeat that!” I interrupted and she sighed.“You should call her back. She seems to be worried about something.”
“You have no idea what happened, Evie. You can’t just assume that I am at fault.”
She thought for a moment.
“If you fought with your best friend and he calls you to tell me that I am dying, would you not save me just because you’re angry with him?”I looked at her confused. “How does that make any sense?”
“What did your mom do? Why aren’t you saving her?”That question made me silent. I can’t begin to explain my love for her — but I can’t save her. If I try, things can only get worse and I’d rather have her alive and hating me, than dead and still hating me.
“I can’t. I can’t do anything.”
I looked around and walked away. For some reason, I didn’t want her to see me like this.
“I know what you feel,” she said slowly. “My mom? She—she hated me to the core. I know what that feels like but you know what? It doesn’t matter if you could only show up on time and save the day. If only you could be there for her in her time of need.”
I looked back at her. “How do you know she hates me?”
“What else could be the reason?” She was convinced.“Maybe I just don’t care. Maybe I am just too heartless to give a shit.”“You can fool the world, but not me, Damien.” Her small smile made me feel special to be able to receive it. “Behind what you show, you’re the kindest and the most caring man this world has ever known.”Evie I looked at Damien. “What?” I asked.“Nothing. Just no one has ever said that to me.” He looked away again. I sighed. Should I be happy that I was the first one to say that or be sad that so many people get fooled by his facade? “Well. So, you’re going to see your mom?”“I can’t leave you alone.” He sighed and looked at me. “So, go downstairs and sit down quietly. I have some work to do.” “I can take care of myself. You should go.”He ignored my words and left for his room anyway. I sighed and went downstairs. I remembered that I saw his password one time when he used it to open his phone. I wasn’t trying to steal his personal information — but I have the right to confirm that I am the only one he kidnaps. Ha! I smiled to myself thinking about all those moments. He is just so cute; I can’t believe that I am actually here with him. I mean… What do I have that is so special? I guess I will never know. “I’ll just work here,” I heard him say while he brought his laptop downst
Damien We reached the airport in a few minutes and sat down in our private plane. I looked over to her and she was quite amazed. “What? Never seen a private plane before?” I couldn’t help but ask, smirking. She rolled her eyes before looking around again, her beautiful eyes glistening with amazement. “Not really.” “Well, you should get used to this. Now that you’re going to be Mrs. Wright.” Her eyes flickered for a second and she looked at me, thinking about something. I could share the same emotions because the same feelings erupted inside me. Mrs. Wright. My wife. I smiled to myself. Even though the consequences leading up to right now weren’t pretty, I couldn't think how this could be anything bad. I didn’t have any problems with her — and for some reason, I thought that it was only good since I might never find someone like her again. I picked up a lamp kept on a small table to avoid his gaze but he came closer and took the lamp.“So, you have no problem if I do this.”“Do what?” I was compelled to look at him.He smirked and pulled me closer. Before I could react, he kissed me and we fell onto the bed. I kissed him back and he devoured my mouth with his tongue, making my senses go wild. His kiss was like feathers. Not only soft but so beautiful, so mesmerizing… that I was completely lost.He parted and looked into my eyes. We both breathed heavily before he kissed the side of my mouth and then kissed the nape of my neck.“Damien…” I whispered. His rasped breathing was more evident than mine. He stopped kissing me and joined our foreheads — something that made me feel that his feeling
Evie I was taken aback by his sweet gesture. We had been close for a while but things were getting better day by day, and my hopes were starting to touch the sky. Maybe he could actually be my soulmate. The one who’ll love me as much as I would love him. Maybe it didn’t have to be just a business marriage. He smiled. “Now, you should take a shower. I mean unless you want to stare at me for the rest of the time.” I blushed and sneaked a glance at his bare chest, blushing even more. He was so sexy, and he was actually… good. He made me feel safe and secure. Even after what happened with Lucifer and almost the betrayal, he thought he had, he trusted me again and I knew in my heart that I wouldn’t ever betray him. “No, I-I will shower.” I stepped back and with a smile, took my dress and went into the bathroom. I could feel his gaze on me all the while until I locked the door. ___________ Damien My fingers went through the pile of congratulatory cards in my hand. The wedding hadn’t
Damien's POV"And that is supposed to...what? Interest me?" I tilted my head in sarcasm and chuckled as I sat comfortably in my seat. "You have a death wish?"The man shivered with fear. I let out a calm breath."This is the third time you've wasted my time. You know that if you irritate me…" I left it at that because I knew my smirk was enough to complete the sentence. He had visible fear on his face. "I--I-am sorry, boss," he stuttered. "I-I will make this right—"I took out my gun and pointed it at him. His eyes widened and he took a few shaky steps back from my desk. "B-boss---""You stupid pitiful fools," I chuckled and got up. "You don't even know when to shut up, do you?"He looked down and continued taking deep breaths. I turned off the safety of my gun and he squinted his eyes."Last words?"
Damien’s POVI was just finishing up my documents when someone knocked on the door.“Come in,” I said without looking up.“Oh, Damien. Always working!”I looked up, irritated. “Why are you here?”“Don’t be such a jerk, Damien.” She walked toward me and leaned over on the table, showing her cleavage. I looked sideways and then down at my paper, shattering her intentions.“Stop working!” She said excitedly so and was about to take my document away when I caught her hand in between. “You should walk out of here,” I said with a dark voice.“You know I get really tingly when you use your threatening tone. It is so… sexy.”I was reaching my level of frustration with her.“You want to seduce me, don’t you?&rdq
Damien’s POV“The work is done, boss,” Michael — one of my people — informed me. I nodded and he left the room.I rubbed my forehead and sighed. Things have been difficult without Trevor. He wasn’t just a business partner, he was my best friend. Now, he had just… disappeared for three days.I can’t find him. I don’t even know if I should.Anyway, the work was done, so it was time to go home. I got up and as I left the cabin, my eyes fell on a woman standing near the door. I raised my eyebrow.“Do I know you?”She looked at me and gasped. “Ah— no, no sir. I–I was, uh, just…”“Calm down,” I said as I sensed how scared she was.She took a deep breath.“Y-yeah. Uh, I was… um, appointed by Mr. Trevor Hall to assist you in
Damien’s POVI let out a shaky breath at the person I saw.“You?” I asked with resentment in my voice, “how did you get in?”The man laughed with pleasure and let out a fake-warm smile. “Oh, son. I still have the key to this house because… why? Oh! Because this is my fucking house!”I chuckled. “Yours? Seriously?” I took a dominating step toward him. “Do you have the papers to prove that?”“Oh, you’re so naive. Always involving lawyers, and… police… and judges… courts… These are family matters, my son.”“First of all, I am not your fucking son,” I said, “Second, this is not a family matter.”“Oh don’t worry, I don’t need your house. I came here bearing gifts!”

Evie“But I guess you have to get ready to call me Damien.”I looked at him as my thoughts went all over the future. I was ready to be married to him — after all, that was the condition in exchange for my safety. But I didn’t imagine anything else than marriage.I didn’t imagine the thrill. I failed to think what I would be going through if I do that — how hard would it be to not fall for this bastard. He sighed and took a step back. “I’ve thought about it for a while but all the plans I made seem to fail.”I looked at him.“I don’t think I have much of a choice anymore. I will set the wedding day soon. All the preparations will be done. To avoid any backlashes, the wedding will be done as a grand one.”I slowly nodded my head. “But—”
EvieIt was hell living with him.“You know you can’t go out.” He chuckled as I was completely prepared to go and buy some new clothes for myself.“I thought protecting someone meant giving them bodyguards and stuff. It doesn’t mean keeping them captive!” I exclaimed and sighed. He shrugged. “Should’ve thought about it before working with Lucifer.”“As if I had a choice,” I murmured.“Well go ahead but don’t bother me if Trevor finds you and kills you.”“Isn’t he your friend? Why can’t you explain to him?”The question was obviously ignored by him as he continued working on his laptop. I sat down on the couch, tired from being in the house all the time.It has been two days since I am locked here and God knows when I will get to
Damien“Where did you find Evie?” I asked him. He looked at me with suspicion.“How does that matter?”“Well, she was the only one new—”“So you brought her to our secret base and let her hear our conversation without trusting her?”“You know there is no one we can trust!” I shouted. “We can never be sure!”“No. No, that is not true. I trusted you and you failed our plan.”I scoffed. “You want to pin that on me?”“Yes, actually.” He got up. “I should’ve never called you.”“And I should've never accepted someone you hired.”“And I should’ve never told you about my fiancee because you are so fucking jealous of everything.”I chuckled. “What?”“Yes. DamienIt was weird having someone with me at the house, but I guess, everything will change someday.“Which room should I take?” I heard Evie as she entered the house.“Your choice,” I said, knowing that it was impossible she would choose the one I stay in out of the sixty others.“Well.” She sighed deeply. “You live alone?”“The servants are gone, so yeah, I am alone right now,” I smirked and said in a tone that made her face red.She looked down. “I-I will find some room now.”I smiled as I watched her move toward one of the rooms.“By the way, I would suggest looking through all the rooms and choosing the one you like!” I shouted because she was a little far away. She looked back and nodded slowly. I smirked and went to my room, which was on the second floor.&nb
