Chapter 5

Grandmother's funeral was organized by Jake.

She was buried with Grandfather, per her dying wish.

Afterwards, Jake and I began dating.

His mother initially disapproved but later changed her mind.

We spent seven years together.

During that time, Jake would get angry whenever I mentioned the medical bills.

He was upset that I was too independent and never relied on him.

Eventually, I stopped bringing it up and learned to depend on him.

He had an ex-girlfriend who broke up with him because she went abroad. I only found out about it later.

I didn't think much of it, as he always made me feel secure.

After he honestly explained everything, our relationship actually improved.

I never doubted him.

Thinking about this, I felt a bit dazed.

Suddenly, Susie's voice snapped me back to reality.

She was fidgeting with her nails as she casually said:

"Oh, by the way, I was curious and looked through your bedroom closet."

"I found this old, tattered notebook. I accidentally damaged it,
