Chapter 5

When I groggily opened my eyes, it was already dusk outside. The room was dim, and I tried to move, but the sound of a chain clinking around my wrist snapped me fully awake.

I sat up and saw Felix sitting at the edge of the bed, staring at me without moving a muscle.

I gasped in shock. “Shit!”

Realizing I had just cursed, I quickly corrected myself. “Felix.”

I tugged at the chain around my wrist. “What’s going on? Is this some kind of prank?”

He walked over and leaned down to turn on the bedside lamp.

Only then did I notice the look in his eyes. It was soft, yet with an intensity that felt almost possessive.

I stared at him, bewildered.

He gently stroked my face, his voice carrying a tenderness I had never heard from him before. “Alex, I love you.”

My mind went blank.

I stared at him in disbelief. “Felix, you—”

Before I could finish, he leaned in and kissed me, one hand cradling my back while the other held my head firmly in place, leaving me no room to move.
