Chapter 7

Not long after Felix left, I got dressed and headed out. I left the villa key behind.

Yes, I had feelings for Felix.

But I knew all too well that my mom would never let go of her love for William.

She was my mom, and I could never bring myself to hurt her.

There was no solution to this situation.

The only way not to hurt my mom while also avoiding being controlled for the rest of my life was to leave this place.

I took out my phone and, as I made my way home, booked a flight to Country A that was leaving in three hours.

When I arrived home, my mom was sitting in the living room watching TV.

As soon as she saw me, she stood up. “Where were you last night?”

“At a friend’s place,” I said casually, heading to my room to pack.

She immediately followed, watching me dig through my closet, her expression uneasy. “You don’t need to pack your things!”

I froze.

What did she mean?
