Chapter One Hundred - Celebration

Shie gently led me to my room, her arms steady as I stumbled under the weight of my tears. I hadn't realized just how exhausted I was until my body collapsed onto the bed, my mind too weary to resist sleep.

The overwhelming emotions, the endless sobs—they had drained me completely. I wasn't even sure when I fell asleep, but I knew I did when the sensation of someone combing through my hair stirred me awake.

The motion was soft, comforting, and warm and when I opened my eyes, I found Alex sitting beside me on the bed.

He was watching me, his eyes filled with something between worry and relief, as if he'd been waiting for me to wake up. His gaze softened when he noticed I was awake, his lips parting with a quiet sigh of relief.

“You're awake,” he whispered, his voice gentle as he leaned forward to press a tender kiss to my forehead. “You've been crying all morning.”
