Today was full of surprises. I never expected Alex to be one of the bidders for the championship art piece.

He wasn’t just participating—he was determined to win it, paying a staggering sum of money, all because so many others wanted it too.

I hadn’t wanted him to go through all that trouble, especially since I made the painting for him. But Alex, being Alex, was persistent.

He kept telling me how much it meant to him, how important it was to have something I’d created just for him.

I sighed softly, feeling a mix of exasperation and warmth. It almost felt like he had purchased the gift I had made for him.
