Elena’s POV

We arrived at the warehouse at midnight, the only sound being the creaking of the old building in the wind. Alex was already there, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light in the darkness.

"So, Elena," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you're still playing detective. How quaint."

I smiled, trying to keep my cool. "Just trying to get to the truth, Alex. You know how it is." Alex sneered.

"The truth? You want to know the truth? I'll tell you the truth. I killed Bonnie, and I'll kill you too if you don't back off."

My heart skipped a beat as I heard his words, but I knew I had to keep him talking. "Why, Alex? Why did you do it?"

Alex laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Because she was getting too close to the truth. She thought she was smart enough to use me? She was going to expose me, and I couldn't let that happen."

I felt a surge of anger, but I kept my cool, knowing that the voice spy was recording every word. "You're not going to get away with this,
