Alpha Kane's POV The Elders have requested a meeting with me and I can't help but wonder what was going on. The Elders bunch are one big nosy old people. Always trying to get into my business and sometimes they don't even know their places. I was summoned to the Council room. Alaric told me the Elder's council wanted to see me in the meeting room. The Elders are always so inquisitive and act like I do not have the pack's interest in mind. When I became the Alpha of this Pack, the Nightwolf Pack, it was a small pack in comparison to the Shadow Pack. It was easily raided by Rogues because of its dense population as well. The Alpha and his son were killed during a Rogue attack. Thanks to Richards' wisdom and ways I became the Alpha of this Pack. It wasn't an easy task for a Beta's son to become the Alpha but I was next in line after the Alpha and his son died. I made Alaric my Beta because we share the same dreams and goals. The Nightwolf Pack was a small, poor pack that relied mostly
Alpha Kane’s POV I could feel their eyes on me, in search of anything suspicious like they were trying to read my mind. I was unfazed with the question. My dealings were out of their sight. They could only guess but will never be able to connect the dots. “What business deals?” I threw back the question at them. The question they had just asked hung in the air, heavy and accusing. "Are you telling us the whole truth, Alpha Kane?" Elder Jonas had asked. For a moment, I let the silence stretch, my gaze moving slowly from one elder to the other. These men were not fools; they had seen too much in their lives to be easily deceived. Some of them have been elders before I became the Alpha and while we're recently appointed under my regime.“Yes,” I finally said with a clear voice.“I have told you everything you need to know. No secret business or dealings.” I answered. The Elder Council had an important role in the pack. They serve as a guiding force, offering wisdom and counsel to the
Alpha Kane’s POVI expected him to come after the meeting but I just didn't expect it to be immediately. They all wanted something. When the pack had nothing, they did little to nothing to promote the pack's stability.Everyone loves to be in a position of power. Power is a good thing and it brings a lot of things with it. Elder Owen wanted his daughter to be my Luna. I only wanted a submissive Luna, a child bearer and a woman to warm my bed whenever I needed her. I could get any girl to sleep with me. Most women love to have sex with an Alpha so getting someone to warm my bed wasn't a difficult thing. The meeting had been necessary, though it left a sour taste in my mouth. The elders were growing more restless by the day, their demands for transparency becoming more annoying to me. They wanted to know every detail of my plans, every move I made and my personal dealings. The discovery of the dead guard had only fueled their suspicions but I’d kept my response measured. There were som
Richard's POV It's been days since the Rogue attack and the pack has been on lockdown ever since then. The Elder Council will be meeting soon again to vote for the next Alpha. I felt uneasy like things were about to take a different turn and it wasn't going to be easy for us.bThe morning sun struggled to break through the thick canopy of trees surrounding the Shadow Pack's territory. I could feel the weight of it all pressing down on me. The work I and Julia had done so far was about to be a waste if we did not take action. The lockdown imposed after the Rogue attack had made everything more difficult, but it was a good thing in a way. Alex had to be Alpha, and we weren’t going to let a few elders stand in the way of that. I and Julia had a lot to do before the next meeting, and convincing the elders to vote in favour of Alex was at the top of that list. We have agreed to start doing that this morning. My mind was racing and unsettled for the outcome of meeting the other elders.Ju
Alex's POV Since I came back to the Shadow Pack, I didn't resume my old work in the pack. I never thought I would stay this long. I did not want to settle in this pack. I don't know what I was thinking of coming back here. I just had in mind to check if Alexis had been mated to someone else but the whole situation is not messed up.I had thought of what to do now that I was around. I tried to meet up and train with the other pack members. All I have in my mind now is to find ways of getting Alexis out of Alpha Kane's pack and leave this damn pack as well. I won't allow my parents to drag me into whatever plot they are cooking up. The sun was intense. I was meeting some pack members to train. The pack was still a little tense, even though the lockdown would soon be lifted. Everyone was on edge, wondering when the next strike might come. I could feel the weight of it in my chest, the pressure mounting as each day passed without any sign of Alexis or without knowing what to do and my n
Alex's POVThe day had finally come. I had anticipated it impatiently and can't wait for today to unfold. I was restless and I kept thinking of what could be the outcome of today's meeting with Anton’s contact. Since I last spoke to Anton, different thoughts of what Alpha Kane might have done to Alexis ran through my mind and what if Alexis wasn't interested in leaving Alpha Kane's pack. We haven't talked since Alpha Kane abducted her so I can't say I knew what could be going through her mind. If Alpha Kane had marked her already, will she be willing to break the bond between them? When werewolves mark each other they are bound for life except they reject the mark through rituals or if one of the other dies. I knew he definitely couldn't make her the Luna immediately he took her to the pack, there were procedures to follow and it all took time.I ignited my car and drove towards leaving the pack. My heart raced. I had been waiting for this moment, though I wasn’t sure if I was fully
Alex's POV "You’re the one who’s causing all this fuss with Alpha Kane, huh?" Bergan stated.I nodded, clenching my fists under the table. "My sister was taken by him. He’s claiming she’s his mate, but it’s all a lie. I just need to know if she’s safe and if there is a way to just you know… see how she's faring.” I said and looked at Anton. I lied. More like I hid some truth. I couldn't tell him the whole truth. It was only Anton who knew Alexis was my mate. I can't risk him selling me out to Alpha Kane. I didn't tell him what I had in my mind was to break Alexis out since we ain't sure if he would be willing to go against his Alpha.“Can we trust you?” I asked him as I looked straight into his eyes.“Honestly, Alpha Kane isn't my favourite person.” He started and his words shocked me.“I'm his Zeta. He made me his Zeta after my two brothers were killed when he took them on a raid.” He sighed.“The Elders and pack members were against the raiding but it's like he derives some sort o
Alpha Kane's POV I hesitated for a moment, my thoughts racing. I had asked myself that question so many times over the past few weeks. Why does my body ache for her this much? “She’s different, man,” I finally said. “There’s a fire in her, something that I haven’t seen in anyone else since Amy. I have tried to break her but she's a tough one.”Alaric frowned, clearly trying to piece it together. “So you want her... but not as your Luna?”I nodded, turning back toward the window. “I want her, but she’s not fit to be my Luna. She’s too stubborn. I need someone who will submit to me fully, someone who wants to be submissive and do whatever it takes to listen to my command. Alexis... she doesn’t have that in her. But Richard offered her to me, and I took her. She’s mine now even though she's resisting me.”“But if you don’t make her your Luna, what’s your plan? You can’t just keep her as a prisoner forever. The elders are starting to ask questions and not making her the Luna would only
