Alexis’s POV

I never thought that I would be able to sleep after the horror I’d been through, but exhaustion took over. I was thankful I had Elara in this pack. The morning light made its way to my room through the window. My back was healing but I knew it would still take a while before it fully healed up. I got up from my bed and with every movement I made, I felt pain.

Elara was late this morning and I did not know why, so I made my way to sort myself out and took a cloth from the closet. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. I was hoping it was Elara but the person didn't come in so I walked to check who it was.

A woman in her late forties stood at the door, her expression was cold. She didn’t say a word as she looked at me.

“I’m the head omega. You are to work today,” she finally said. “Alpha Kane’s orders.” She added.
