Chapter 111

Becca's POV

I watched desperately, my heart pounding so loudly I could barely hear anything else. Naomi stood before the altar, her hands trembling slightly as she picked up the rope that linked all the witches together. She began chanting, her voice steady and resolute despite the fear I could see flickering in her eyes.

Please, I prayed silently, hoping we weren't too late.

Suddenly, a brilliant light burst forth from the rope, filling the room with an almost blinding radiance. I shielded my eyes, squinting against the brightness. Then, as quickly as it had come, the light vanished, leaving us in the dim, eerie silence of the room.

Naomi slowly stood up, her legs unsteady. I rushed to her side, my hands frantically checking her for any signs of harm. She looked exhausted but there was a spark of relief in her eyes.

"It worked," she said breathlessly. "The link has been broken."

A wave of relief washed over me, and I pulled her into a tight hug. "You did it, Naomi. You did so well,"
