Chapter 114

Becca's POV

I tossed in the bed, my hands moving to the left, hoping to feel Bas beside me. My heart sank when my hand met only cold sheets. Opening my eyes, I scanned the room, realizing he was gone. Had he left during the night?

I wished he had stayed. The emptiness of the room pressed in on me, a stark reminder of the two years I had spent alone. Darius had locked me up as punishment, forbidding me from even stepping outside. I was isolated, with no phone to reach out to my friends or my mum. The only comfort was knowing they were safe, thanks to Bas. He had instructed Tom to watch over them, and occasionally, I received updates about their well-being.

With a heavy sigh, I rose from the bed and headed to the shower. The cold water cascaded over my body, but it did little to wash away the tension coiled within me. I stood there for a while, letting the water flow, hoping it might provide some semblance of relief. It didn't.
