Chapter 115

Bas POV

The soft feel of the bed against my back made me jolt up. My eyes snapped open, and I scanned the room, confusion swirling in my mind. I wasn't supposed to be here; the last I remembered, my father had locked me up in a cell.

I quickly jolted upright, my eyes finding Becca sitting beside me. Her eyes were heavy with exhaustion, dark circles marring her usually bright features. She looked like she had barely slept.

"Thank God you're awake," she said in a whisper, her voice quivering with relief.

"Becca?... How..."

"How could you be so stubborn?" she interrupted, wiping away the tears that spilled from her eyes. Her hands trembled as she did so. "Do you have any idea how worried I was when I found out you were back in the cell?" Her voice broke, and the tears poured down profusely, her body shaking with each sob.

I pulled her closer, wrapping her in a tight hug. I could feel her body trembling against mine, and it broke my heart to see her like this. "I'm so sorry," I whispered,
