CHAPTER TWO

ANNABELLE POV

In the middle of the night, I woke up the moment I heard footsteps coming my way and a figure came to the dungeon, opening the doors.

“By order of Leonard, he has asked that you should be pardoned.” I stood for a moment in disbelief.

Leonard is Alpha Damien’s son and I never thought he would even consider me worthy of being pardoned.

I walked out of the dungeon and the pack soldier led me back up from the tunnel and while I hoped to make my way to my little room, I noticed a figure standing at my door step.

“Are you that ungrateful not to show gratitude to me?” He stepped forward and I realized it was none other than Morris.

“I thought…” I held my tongue, as he cautioned me to be quiet.

“Now walk into your room and pull of your cloths, I must have a taste of that sweet body of yours.” I noticed the lust in his eyes and his salivating mouth showed me he was desperate.

I took a couple of steps forward, walking past him and felt a hit at my back. He chuckled and walked away with his head high.

‘We cannot let him have his way with us, we need to do something about it really quick.” My wolf commented as we stepped into the room.

‘I am helpless Lela, there is nothing I can do against the Beta. He must have convinced the pack soldiers that Leonard had given that order and now he wants me to show gratitude.’

I dropped to the bed with my eyes staring at the fallen roof above my head. My room was a total mess and unfit for people but animals, I guess that is what I am to them after all.

The footsteps approaching the door, had me at alert and I instinctively ran to the door and bolt it, pulling the lock tight and keeping the keys to myself.

“What is this nonsense?” Morris asked with a growl.

“I will not allow you defile me, I am sorry.” I added.

I stepped back as he slammed his leg on the door, aggressively trying to bring it down but it was made of iron.

“Open this door you stupid girl!” He kept pushing and struggling with the door, but it won’t open. “I swear to God I am going to kill you!” Morris threatened, causing my heart to race for a moment.

I could not allow him defile me, I had made a vow to only share my bed with my mate and that I will keep to myself no matter what happens.

After a while, he was gone and all my anxiety and panic disappeared in a split second, allowing me to take a deep breathe and drop back to the bed.

I had no doubt that tomorrow is going to be a tough day and I could only dread what it holds for me.

The suns rose early the next morning and members of Blood Moon Pack were in their festive mood. Today is the long awaited moon goddess celebration and I had totally forgotten, until I noticed everyone wearing the best of their clothes.

I was avoiding Morris, after what had happened the previous night in hopes that he doesn’t throw me back at the dungeon.

“Annabelle!” A familiar loud and chattering feminine voice yelled my name, causing me to drop the mop and broom in my hands. I ran towards Ella’s room scared that he could possibly assault me, if I hesitated for a moment about it.

I pulled the door open and froze at the spot, seeing Morris and Ella on the same bed. Morris stood up from the bed and wore his robe, staring at me with hatred written in his eyes.

“Take the trash out of the room.” She ordered, absent mindedly scrolling through her phone. I grabbed the trash can and turned to leave the room. “Wait!” She said and I paused in my tracks once again.

“If you speak one word of what you have seen to anyone, I will have Morris snap your neck.” She threatened and I looked to Morris to see a smirk on her face.

“You don’t have to worry about that my love, I think I am still going to snap her neck either ways.” My hands began to shake and as I moved out of the room, I could sense Morris walking behind me.

I increased my steps hoping he would not call me. Turning into the corner I bumped into a wall, at least that is what I thought, till I look up to see the Alpha’s son Leonard staring down at me with no emotions on his face.

“I….I am sorry” I stumbled on my words and tried to move a way, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

“I thought father said you were in the dungeon?” He asked.

“Leonard, I did not know you will be here.” 

I turned around to see Morris with a surprised look, followed by his head lowered down in respect.

“I thought you will be gone for the festivals?" He asked.

"I came looking for you on behalf of father." Leonard replied, his eyes still on me. "Remind me something Morris, isn't this girl meant to be in the dungeon? Not that I care, but father said she did something horrible."

"She escaped from the dungeon and I cannot tell you how happy I am that you found her." Morris approached me and I take a step backwards.

"Don't worry," I turned back to Leonard, hoping I heard him right. "She will still be needed in the mansion, so allow her for now. Answer my father's call, he needs you immediately." 

As Morris walked past the both us, his stare remained on me with a scowl on his face, till he was out of sight.

"Stay out of trouble next time." He said, letting go of my

hand and walking away.

Maybe there are still good people left in the pack after all.
