CHAPTER FIVE

THIRD POV

It is another glorious day in Liberty Pack and every one had gone about their daily activities. Alpha Damien was presently in his chambers in deep thought. He had not been able to eat nor drink properly since the last altercation with his son.

A knock came through and the door opened revealing the Luna and the Beta who came and sat down while the Alpha continued to stare at his window.

 “I called you here not just as my second in command but also as my trusted advisor to help me. My son has been selected by the moon goddess to be mated to the Omega” Beta Morris’s eye went wild and was shocked. 

“This is a delicate issue Alpha and as you know, once a seed of an Alpha finds a mate, he is to be presented in the next full moon to everyone as their mate” the Alpha on hearing this tore his gaze from his window and was growled at his beta 

“I will not watch with my two eyes as my son mates with that filthy Omega, you and I know that it would be an uttermost shame and embarrassment not only to me but to everyone in Liberty Pack and other packs which are nearest to us” he collected a glass of wine served by his wife and sipped some and looked once more at his Beta 

“Morris what would you have me do to avoid this embarrassment? I need you to advise me at this point because I don’t know what to do” the Beta thought for a moment and said

 “Alpha, you and I know that there is nothing that can be done. The moon goddess has selected the two to be together then let destiny take its cause” 

Alpha Damien laughed angrily and retorted 

“Destiny? It is quite funny that you too, speak of destiny. My bloodline is at stake here and you are speaking to me about destiny? Now tell me, when am gone do you know that my offspring will be from that filthy Omega? Someone who cannot even cater for herself, she cannot be Luna of this Pack!” Beta Morris didn’t know what to say and so decided to opt for just being in deep thought. 

“Well, I am going to write off the destiny scripted by the moon goddess and I will write my own destiny just like my ancestors did in their time” the Alpha said with that fiery look he always had on when he was willing to prove he could do something. 

“What do you propose then” Luna Victoria spoke for the first time since the discussion started. The alpha directed his attention to her and said 

“Just watch and see my dear mate” he smirked mischievously.

Annabelle was mopping the floor and was humming alongside with the birds that seemed like the lead singers.

 “You should take some time out and rest my dear friend” Becky’s voice brought her out of his fantasies and she smiled. 

“I noticed you were avoidably absent during the event last night, any reason for that” Becky folded her arms waiting for an explanation. She had hoped that Annabelle will use the festive event as a medium to mingle with few people. Before Annabelle could say anything, she made sure she looked around to ensure nobody was eavesdropping and said in low tone 

“I found my mate” Becky was elated and hugged her friend but stopped on her track when she noticed Annabelle wasn’t being all jovial like she hoped it would be. 

“What is the matter? Did he rejected you” Annabelle asked with one eye brow raised. Annabelle nodded sideways indicating it to be a NO and once again said in low tone 

‘I am mated to the Alpha’s son” Becky’s eyes went wild and she couldn’t find a way to comprehend what Annabelle had just told her. She was shocked for two reasons, one was the fact that Annabelle mate was the Alpha’s son and secondly Becky had always had a crush on Leo and so this news saddened her.

 “That is good news sweetheart!” She didn’t mean it with her heart as she wished she was the one mated with Leo. 

“So when you both met, how did it feel” Becky was curious to know Annabelle’s reaction.

“A lot of thing happened last night dear friend. The summary of the whole thing is, we made out and were caught by the Alpha who Leo got into a fight with, trying to protect me his mate, and eventually, I got another scar last night from one of the pack members who was instructed to use a whip on me for disrespecting the Alpha” with that Annabelle sighed 

“So what do you intend to do now that the alpha knows that his son is your mate” Becky asked still curious 

“I haven’t given it a thought. But one thing I will have you know is that no one will take my mate away from me because I love him” Becky hated the fact that the one single person she had come to love was mated to an Omega and so, envy and hatred began to engulf her as she channeled it to Annabelle her friend.

“Well, let me leave you to your chores, I have school to attend” and with that Becky left the kitchen. Annabelle on the other hand noticed something was off about Becky the moment she had mentioned that Leo was her mate but didn’t put much thought to it. 

While she was still mopping the floor, the same scent from the party filled her nose and once again, her wolf was elated and for all she knows, Leo had come for her. Annabelle could feel his scent which was mixed summer berries and as she looked up and saw him, there was a connection formed between them as their wolves both clawed to take over. Annabelle could not concentrate on her chores any longer and definitely felt a spark when he looked into her eyes. 

Leo approached her like the last time and felt his wolf taking control and he crashed his lips into hers. Leo tongue slips inside her mouth, gentle but demanding, it was nothing like Annabelle had experienced. She gripped his hair, pulling him closer as her heart explodes and her vein throbs. The intense moment was brought to an end abruptly by Leo and both were panting heavily from the intense moment. Leo looked at his mate in the eye and said

“This place isn’t safe for you dear mate, let us leave this pack together” Annabelle removed her hands from his collar bone and looked at him in disbelief. 

“You know that is not possible, we have no where to go. Precise, if we leave the pack we eventually turn rogues and thus we are both prone to danger” Leo held her hands and once again both o

f them felt the spark.

“We will survive dear mate.”
