Lorenzo's POV

“Let's get back home!” Vera seemed troubled, she turned back and rushed out of the woods while I trailed her.

Back at Vera's house, she made her magical drawing and sat down in the center, inhaling deeply with her eyes closed.

Feeling clueless and left out, I leaned towards her, muttering, “And what am I supposed to do?”

I was the one that detected Cassie's and her evil intentions but Vera had taken over the case without bothering to carry me along.

Vera opened one of her eyes, which was somehow filled with anger. “Problem is imminent. We need to be fast before the enemies take us down from within.”

Her words were so hot that I felt heat grazing my skin.

‘Have I not been warning her all these days? Why did she become so serious all of a sudden?’

I wasn't satisfied as I hadn't gotten my question answered. “Four hands are faster than two. I can't just stand and watch!”
