Carmen's POV

I had been standing for a couple of minutes in front of the king's prison. Alpha Mark was clearly devastated, the fake demeanor that he used to put on was nowhere to be found on him.

"Alpha Mark, haven't you been so careless about this?" I asked with remorse, I couldn't picture where this would end but I was sure it would end in a bad way for all of us.

Hearing my voice, he kept his head down, not giving me the reaction I expected.

"Staying mute without interacting is surely not the way out!" I continued my quest to bring words forth from him.
