Chapter 22 Rescue In The Shadows

(Migumi’s POV)

A surge of panic cursed through me as the sea of people pushed me away from the store where Tara and I separated. I tried to push through the crowd to get back to the place where we parted, but the flow of people made it difficult to move against.

I found myself getting pushed back further and further away from the place where Tara and I lost each other. I could feel myself being jostled and pushed from all sides, each one seemingly intent on going in the opposite direction.

“TARA!!!” I desperately called for her name, but my voice was just drowned out by the noise of the bustling and overwhelming crowd.

Each step I took forward, I got dragged two steps back by the relentless force of the crowd.

Anxiety started to kick in when I finally lost sight of the store. It only meant that I had gone too far. I’m afraid that the direction of the crowd might take me to some place I don't know. I need to get myself out of here!
