CHAPTER 48

GAIA

I was nervous. So nervous that my heart was beating fast as Bella helped me put my hair in a very tight ponytail.

“You’re squeezing my brain.”

“Sorry.” She sighed “That’s the first word you've said within the hour. Are you sure you're fine? Do you feel sick?”

I turned around to look at her.

“I don't know. This may not be the first party I'm attending but it's the first one I'm hosting. Which means I have to be everywhere and say hi to everyone and my speech…oh gosh, my speech.”

I was losing my breath and losing my mind.

“Relax. I'm going to be there with you at every step of the way. You just have to go around saying hi to people, say your speech and then, leave them to enjoy the party. How hard could it be?”

Sure enough, it didn't sound very hard but that was because it wasn't Bella that was going to do it. What if I stutter? What if I trip over my own two feet? What if I talk and spit flies out of my mouth and lands on my guest's face?
