Hunter 4: The Search

Pagkarating ko sa library ay kaagad akong naghanap ng librong patungkol sa kanila. Mahirap man paniwalaan ngunit na sa harapan ko na ang sagot. They are the only ones who possess a unique ability and it is also the way of choosing the next Alpha. If the child of the current Alpha possesses a unique ability that came from the moon goddess, he will automatically be the next Alpha.

Alpha is also the source of strength of one’s pack. If ever their leader is weak, the whole pack will weak. But, it only happens when the Alpha still has not found his mate yet. The Luna of a pack. The strength and weakness of the Alpha and the pack. Every pack needs a Luna and having a Luna is very important because they will going to be the source of the Alpha’s strength and can make the pack powerful.

Alpha… the leader of one pack. And the Luna… the strength and weakness of the Alpha, so as the pack. Hmm… I see. Luna is the Alpha’s spouse and having a Luna is a must-to-one pack. And if the Luna is weak, there’s a big possibility that she might be the target of the enemies—she can also be a burden into one pack.

Kung mahina ang Luna, manghihina rin ang Alpha at kasunod no’n ay ang buong pack… tama ba?

Bumuntong-hininga ako dahil bukod dito ay nagpaulit-ulit sa isipan ko ang ‘intense glowing golden-yellow eyes’ na nabasa ko. Saktong-sakto sa lobong nakita ko sa panaginip ko. To think na mas doble ang laki nito kaysa sa ibang werewolves na pinatay niya.

Beta is the second in command of the Alpha, Delta is the third in command, and Gamma is the one who’s training the pack warriors. The Delta’s job is to make sure the security of the pack borders. While the Beta, it’s always on the Alpha’s side and he is the one who’s taking whatever the orders from the Alpha.

And every time that the Alpha is not around the pack, he will be in charge of taking care of the pack. The Alpha will also choose the two best warriors and he can put them on his team. His team consisting of the Beta, Delta, Gamma, and the two best warriors, they are also known as the Officials. And Omegas are the lowest kind of a werewolf in one pack.

In one pack, there are also called ‘Elders.’ They are the werewolves that give advice to the Alpha and can also decide if they think that the Alpha’s decision is not good for the pack. But then, the power is still on the Alpha. Elders are also important because they live for more than a hundred years. The knowledge and experience that they have are also important when it comes to the pack.

As I read further about the positions, nalaman kong mahalaga talaga ang mga Elders. They are also powerful in one pack but not as powerful as the Alpha and Luna. Sila din ang isa sa nagpapanatili ng katahimikan. Kaya din nilang patalsikin ang Alpha oras na mayroon itong ginawang hindi kanais-nais sa pack niya ngunit bihira lamang itong mangyari.

Sa totoo lang ay hindi ko inaasahan na gagawin ko ito—ang magbasa patungkol sa mga nilalang na hindi ko naman alam kung totoo. Mas gugustuhin ko pang mag-joy ride kaysa magbasa ng patungkol sa ganito. Now I decided to learn more about them before looking for the answers to my questions. Because I know, once I started my journey, it is not impossible to encounter one of them or maybe two rogues and night vampires on my way where I can find the answers about my true identity. Though, thinking about encountering black witches makes me more nervous.

Mate

Mate is the chosen partner of the moon goddess for her creations which are the vampires and werewolves. Their mate will be their strength and weakness and will be with them forever and even death can not tear them apart.

There are some instances that they are mated to humans or witches. But it is rare to have them a vampire mate since the mating process of two individuals is dangerous because they might have a hybrid child. A hybrid monster. But, in this century, you can’t now see a werewolf and vampire that are mated to each other. It’s just a rare one.

Once the two mated with each other are near, they will smell their mate and once they touch each other, they will immediately feel the spark they have. It is the same for the female and male werewolf or vampire to recognize their mate since it’s their nature.

In the case of werewolf and human or witch mate, vampire and human or witch mate, of course, the human mate can not recognize that she or he is mated to a werewolf or a vampire but they can feel the spark and the heart beating fast that will make them confused. Same with the witches.

And as for the male werewolves and vampires, they will smell the intoxicating, sweet, and addictive smell of their mate. They also feel excited, abnormal heart beating, and the desire to hug, kiss and mark their mate. Also, they will feel the bond they have.

Once they found their mate, they will immediately read their mind, and feel what they feel. But it is not that strong because their mate is not yet marked by them. But once the male werewolf already marked their mate, the bond will get stronger until no one can destroy it, even themselves can’t destroy the bond they have.

Rejection is not also the way to destroy the bond. The rejected will just feel pain until it will kill him or her. It will torture the rejected one until it dies. And because they are mated to each other, mark or not, he or she will feel the pain until it will kill him or her also. But if you are powerful enough to survive after the rejection, you can freely choose whoever you want to be with forever but the moon goddess won’t bless you a child.

It is the punishment that the moon goddess created because it is a sin to reject your mate because the moon goddess itself chose your mate to be your partner forever. So it’s better to accept your mate than to be sorry.

Also, once the male werewolf marks his mate, they will share thoughts, feelings, strength, and the Alpha and Luna can share their power or ability with each other and they can use each other’s power and it is stronger than before.

Once you find your mate, don’t be confused if you feel you are already in love because it’s normal since you are really destined for each other. Even you are hardly tried to avoid him or her, you can’t deny that you still want your mate.

Really, huh? Kapag werewolf ka pala o kaya naman ay may mate kang werewolf o vampire ay matatali ka kaagad. Mapapamahal ka kaagad sa tulong na rin ng bond ninyong dalawa. And it is a sin to reject your mate, huh? I see. It is sacred, I guess. You might die or if you survived, you won’t have a child as a punishment from above.

Pero paano na lang pala kung masama ang mate mo? Pero sabi nga, kayang baguhin ng pagmamahal ang isang tao, lobo o bampira pa kaya? But, it’s still up to that someone if he chooses to be selfish. Too selfish to chose to hurt their mate. Dahil kung sakali mang itadhana ako sa isang taong-lobo o bampira, I won’t reject him. Kahit na malayo na sa pagiging normal ang buhay ko.

Hindi naman talaga ako normal…

This mate thing will make you two share everything. Siguro, walang mahinang Luna dahil malaki ang epekto no’n sa Alpha at sa isang pack. Ngunit hindi naman palaging nababase ang lakas sa pagkakaroon ng kapangyarihan o pagiging-isa sa kanila.

Mahaba ito pero binasa ko lang ang mga sa tingin ko ay mahahalagang bagay sa kanila. From Alpha to Mate. Ngayon naman ay sa weakness nila.

Werewolves’ Weaknesses

Even though they are immortals, they still have weaknesses and their weaknesses are wolfsbane, and silver weapons or things. It’s making their system weak, and also, pulling out of their hearts from their body can kill them immediately. But it’s not easy to do that since their senses are too high. Except if their opponent is too weak.

Furthermore, their mate can also be their weakness and it is their most powerful weakness.

But… I doubt that. Yes, I am doubting that I still did not see one of them dahil may pilit na pumapasok sa isipan ko ngunit sa tuwing iniisip ko naman ay sumasakit lamang ang ulo ko.

Madami pa akong binasa patungkol sa kanila at madami rin akong nalaman. Ilang araw din akong tumambay sa library at sa ilang araw na ‘yon ay hindi pa rin bumabalik ang mga pinsan ko na galing sa misyon. Hanggang sa mapagpasyahan kong kausapin na si Lolo at umpisahan na ang paglalakbay ko.

Kung ano man ang malaman ko, sana ay matanggap ko kung ano man ‘yon.
