Chapter 160

Author’s POV

Callum heaved in pain as it struck him on the side very hard. He let out a string of curses. Imaginations ran wild in his head on what he would do to the person who had the guts to attack him. One of his men walked in with a bow.

“Have you found anyone who might have had something to do with the attack around that time?” Callum asked.

The man shook his head with his hands folded behind him. “Nothing yet, my lord. But we know now that none of the people from the palace had anything to do with it.”

He gnashed his teeth against each other. “You can go. And make sure you keep searching for the bastard.”

Struggling to his feet, Callum staggered to get the half-drunk whiskey bottle on the table. Ignoring the doctor’s warning, he drank everything in one go. His body weighed off to the back and he ended up on the floor. He shut his eyes and inhaled sharply, cursing himself out.
