Author’s POV

“Freya?” Ronan mumbled, masking the surprise he felt.

Freya looked between the king and Timon. She had a feeling Timon would open his big mouth to tell Ronan about what he had seen in Isla’s room. The intention was to explain her own side of the story before the actual truth came out.

“I will excuse myself,” Timon said as he rose up to leave.

“You shouldn’t be standing, Freya. Take a seat.” He husband urged.

She folded her arms with a raised brow. “Is everything alright? Why are you in bed at this time of the day?”

Ronan shifted. He had totally forgotten about what happened to him. Timon must have done a good job at making sure no one else in the palace knew of his fall. He thought that was what brought Freya over.

He shrugged. “I just wanted to take a rest. It's been a long day. Why are you here?”

“Does it bother you? Or because you feel bad since you were talking about me.” Freya retorted.
