Fiona’s POV

I wondered how long Ronan had been running before he finally decided to make a stop. His breathing was uneven. And we had to call out to one of the hidden guards to help bring him in. He spent an entire day in bed, taking the herbs that Isla had gotten from a doctor in the village. I couldn’t sleep because my eyes were on him. Until I was sure his breathing had fallen into place, that was when I got to relax.

Something tells me it might be because of Freya’s actions that he was unaware of in the past. I can almost imagine what he might be feeling. I had been betrayed like that by Lauren, she had been my friend for years yet I didn’t know what she was capable of doing. She made sure to make me look like a fool. People like Freya are most dangerous as they are very unpredictable. If I had my way, I would confront her and see who gets the last shot.

“How is he now?” Dawn asked when I joined them in the kitchen.
