Prologue

The Williams

Briana's POV

“I'm sorry, Ms. Briana! I didn't mean to forgot about it. It's just that I am really experiencing depression right now because of my break up with my boyfriend!” The woman was crying a river in front of me.

My eyes were closed trying to find peace. But how can I find peace when I am hearing the same old song from this employee of mine? My ears were bleeding by hearing her reason for the third time.

“Please give me another chance, Ms. Briana! I promise that I will do it immediately! This is all my fault for n—”

“Of course, it's your fault.” I opened my eyes and finally laid my cold eyes at her. I saw how she froze the moment I glanced at her. She looks totally devastated right now. Her eyes were swollen—definitely because of crying to her boyfriend who kept cheating on her.

What an idiot.

“Who do you think fault is it? Should it be my fault that you're being irresponsible for your job?” I asked sharply. She's already on the verge of losing her job.

She quickly shook her head, already begging.

“No, Ms. Briana! It's my fault! I'm so so—”

“Oh, save it. I don't want to hear it anymore.” I rolled my eyes as I breathed heavily.

“Thank you for this chance, Ms. Bria—”

My brows crossed at her. “What chance?” I asked unbelievably. “I didn't say that I will give you another chance. You know my rule, I only give two chances and you already used yours. So…” I paused and painted a tiny but annoying smile on my lips.

“Pack up because I'm firing you,” I said like a b*tch, I will admit that. I was born like this.

“Ms. Briana! Please don't do this to m—”

“She gave you an answer,” my secretary said and dragged her out.

“Woah, what's with the mood?” My brows raised as I saw who just sat foot in my office.

“Why are you here? You never visited me unless you need something,” I intendedly said that with sarcasm.

“Ouch,” she pretended like she really hurt inside. “Didn't you miss your twin sister?”

I chuckled and shook my head. “How can I miss the woman who has the same face as mine? The only difference we have is our hair color,” I mentioned and tilted my head.

Bria Barbara, my twin sister. I was serious when I said that the only difference we have is our hair color. Why? Her hair is orange that goes well with our milky smooth skin, while my hair is just a simple brown hair.

“And the way we live. I'm a Mafia Boss and you're living an ordinary life being a billionaire in this world,” she brought that up again.

“Are you here to convince me to join the Mafia world?” I asked tiredly. How many times did we talk about this? Even our family was always telling me this. I'm so sick of it.

“Briana, the entire Barbara is part of this chaotic Mafia world! Besides, you were trained in fighting and you're even good than me. You're also independently wealthy, you're suitable to be a Mafia Bo—”

“Oh, shut up, Bria.” My face crumpled in front of her. I'm so tired of hearing this from them.

“I'm talking a lot,” she realized.

“What do you need? Just cut to the chase, I have a lot of things to do.” I said and sighed heavily.

“Excuse me, Ms. Briana. Sir Sebastian sent this,” my secretary intervened before she put the lunch box on my desk. Bria quickly gave me her playful eyes.

“So, aren't you gonna marry Sebastian?” She asked with her twinkling eyes.

“Don't meddle with my love life. Sebastian and I have a plan,” I replied with a small smile as I glanced at the food he sent. He was my boyfriend for almost 6 years now. For 6 years, he always makes sure to bring me food no matter how busy he is.

“Anyways, I'm here for this.” She said and put down a black envelope with a gold writings on it. I smirked and glanced at Bria with my sharp eyes.

It's a fvcking wedding invitation.

“Did you obey what they want again?” I asked unbelievably.

“Briana, I also want it. Besides, that is how the Mafia world works.” She explained. I chuckled in front of her. She can never fool me. I can tell from her eyes that she was opposed from the wedding.

“Aren't you even skeptical when they told you this?” I asked bitterly.

“A bit,” she admitted. “Anyways, make sure to attend my wedding. I will curse you if you don't,” she said and chuckled by herself.

This is why I always hate my twin sister. Bria was always like this: kind, soft-hearted, and obedient. All she does was to say yes to our parents and we are completely opposite.

“Also, let's have dinner together. Go to my condo, I'll cook your favorite steak.” Her eyes were filled with joy and that tender smile was always kept on her face.

I feel so bad for her again. My heart is aching everytime I see that my twin is having a hard time.

“Take care of my twin for me,” she said to my secretary before leaving my office.

I looked at the invitation again and opened it up.

“Theodore Williams,” I read aloud. I wonder how huge his clan that my parents chose him for my twin.

“Do you think you can attend the wedding?” My secretary asked. “I mean, the Mafia world doesn't know that Ms. Bria has a twin sister,” she added with a lot of concerns.

I chuckled as I realized it. My twin still invited me when she knows that well. It was me who asked my clan to hide it to the world they have.

“I guess I would have to wear a mask,” I uttered.

As the time flies so fast, when the dark already invaded the entire sky, I quickly drove to my twin's condo. We can at least have dinner before she gets married the soonest. Just like before, I was wearing this black mask. Well, the Mafia world is dangerous. For all those years, we are trying to keep my existence concealed as I also chose an ordinary life from my clan.

“Why is she not opening?” I mumbled while keep buzzing the doorbell. My patience is fading that fast.

“Bria, it's me! What the hell are you doing there?” I said aloud when she was still not opening the door.

“Is it that soundproof that you cannot hear m—” I paused when I accidentally grabbed the doorknob and the door opened. My lips parted before I quickly opened it to go inside.

“What the fvck? Why aren't you locking your doo—” the car keys on my hand dropped as soon as I saw her.

My world suddenly stopped. Everything started to collide and I couldn't move at all. My heart was beating heavily and everything went slowly as if my world became upside down. I felt my entire body was being invade by coldness. I was fvcking trembling.

“B-Bria,” I called.

There was my twin sister, lying on the floor and covered with her own blood.

“Bria!” I exclaimed and quickly went towards her. “What happened? W-What happened to you? W-Who did this? B-Bria…B-Bria…”

I was losing my right mind. I couldn't think properly as if my brain stopped functioning at that moment. There were tears coming out of Bria's eyes while the blood keep dripping out from her mouth.

“A-Avenge me,” she said weakly. Her hand that was painted with her blood tried to reach my cheek.

“Bria…what's going on? What are you talking about?” I asked, crying a river.

For the last time, Bria drew that tender smile that she always shows me whatever hardships that she was facing.

“Williams,”

That was the last word that came out of her mouth before Bria died—before my twin sister died.
