Chapter 4
Happy wedding Theodore's POV “Your wife seems to be distracted,” I looked at Travis when he suddenly brought that up. My eyes quickly shifted at Bria, the woman I just married. She was still in front, staring at the food on our table. I just left for a while to engage with the visitors because Bria is not yet greeting everybody. He heaved a sigh and continued pouring a drink in his glass. “She has been like that since earlier,” Troy commented beside Travis. “She's in pain,” all of us glanced at Tinker when she mentioned that. She was glancing at Bria in front who hadn't even touched the food. I secretly clenched my jaw. Why am I having this feeling? It's hard to see her like that. We only met once. But I will not deny how her tender smile is already glued in my mind. She might not talk, but her eyes were telling it all. “Well, why are you bothered? It's not like you married each other because you're in love. You married each other for the benefits of our clans,” Tinker directly told them. She never failed to be straightforward. Why is Bria like that? Is she against this marriage? She was the one who was into this. She didn't even go against her parents. “Just leave her alone,” I said firmly to my siblings. Bria’s POV “The red hair suits you,” Freya commented, which captured my eyes when she came towards me. I pulled myself together and looked around me. All of them were having a blast, celebrating this marriage that I never once thought I would be in. “Just like Bria,” she added and drank the champagne in her glass. “You're not acting like her, Briana. You can't even flash a small smile and your eyes tell it all that you are mourning.” She gave me her dark sharp eyes. “Remember, Briana. You stepped into your twin's life. Look around,” she said as we both waved our gazes at the people around us. “It might not be obvious, but they are all watching you and Theodore. You must be careful if you want to make this work.” I shut my eyes as I crumpled my hands on my lap. I took a deep breath and tried to focus again. I have been trying to play as Bria since the beginning of the wedding. But my d*mn mind is somewhere else. I couldn't forget how my twin died. And I couldn't even erase Sebastian in my head. “You can't fuck this up or we will be the one who's fucked up,” she muttered when she stood up and was about to leave me there. “Pull yourself together. The Williams have keen eyes, especially the man you married.” She reminded me before she drank all the champagne left in her glass. I decided to go around and greet the visitors. I cannot stay on the table and just watch them. Freya was right. I have to pull myself together because I cannot fuck up anymore. I am wearing Bria’s life right now and I already threw mine for her sake. “So, how many kids should we expect? I'm sure the both of you will produce good Mafia bosses,” the woman that I don't even know said and chuckled with the others. I don't even know any of them. “How many should we expect, Bria?” The other woman repeated the question again. How am I supposed to answer that? Bria never told me how many children she wants when she gets married. Shit. “I-I’m stil—” a hand wrapped on my waist and pulled me closer to him. Theodore quickly captured my eyes and saved my ass for these people as he arrived. “We're not rushing. We prefer to spend more time together. Right, Bria?” He asked. I was in awe right now. They were all eyeing me while wearing those extensive smiles. “O-Of course,” I replied immediately and faked a smile. “Now, if you excuse us, we have to leave. I believe my wife is already tired, aren't you?” That moment, I feel like I got to know some part of Theodore's character. I wonder if Bria also witnessed this side of him. I simply nodded and remained smiling to them. His hand on my waist slipped down and our hands were intertwined. We both turned our backs to them—where my fake smile faded. I glanced at him and the smile he was wearing earlier vanished. “Do you want to go home?” He asked while we were walking in the crowd. I was about to make an answer when I realized what a couple do after the wedding. Fuck. Why is this all happening? I even forget that a honeymoon is part of marriage! I bit my lower lip and my face almost crumpled after realizing that. “I need an answer, Bria.” He said firmly and finally looked at me. Our eyes locked together. “S-Sure,” I replied, not sure about my decision. Isn't it funny? I will have sex with a complete stranger—to the man that my twin is supposed to marry. “Are you leaving?” My mother asked when we were about to leave. Theodore paid his respect to my mother and eyed me for a moment. “I'll go inside first,” he uttered and finally let go of my hand. “You're doing well,” she commented, wearing that strange smile. I can tell that she was not happy—she’s probably not. My twin just died and we are here, attending her supposed wedding. “I might be your stubborn daughter, Mom…but please, don't worry about me. I got this. I always got this,” I assured her and held her hands. “I understand why you are doing this. Bri—Bria,” she closed her eyes firmly. “I know you love living alone. I know that you're genuinely happy with Sebastian…” she then held my hands back. “Just tell me if you can't do it anymore and the Barbaras will rescue you, no matter what.” I appreciate that. But I already gave up everything in my life as Briana. I will only give up if I find out who was behind the death of my twin. “Thanks, Mom. But I will endure this until I catch the culprit,” I faked a smile in front of her just to lessen her worries. “I love you,” she mumbled and embraced me tightly. It's been a while since she became like this to me. “I love you too,” I whispered back. I gave all my best not to let any of my tears slip from my eyes when I went inside the car and simply waved my hand to my mother outside. I pinned my eyes outside the window and ignored Theodore beside me. My heart is so heavy right now. “Are you okay?” He asked. I was not expecting that from him. When I looked at him, he was just staring outside the window as well. His baritone voice softened a bit. “Yeah,” I replied. Even if I'm not, it's not like I can tell him. I can never trust any of the Williams. The huge black gate greeted us when it automatically opened as soon as we arrived at his place. There was an extensive pathway where it was surrounded by the flowers beside it. At the end of it is the mansion. Fuck. His mansion is bigger than mine. How can it be? I'm sure I'm a billionaire like him. Should I extend my house? “Do you live alone here?” I asked while lingering my eyes in every corner of the house when he helped me get out of the car. “Yeah, and the maids. Your things are already in our room,” he captured my eyes due to that. “Huh? In our room?” My eyes widened. I can feel my cheeks burning. “Yes. Do you expect us to sleep in a different room?” He asked and chuckled before he headed inside while removing his coat and tie. I was left outside, gulping and clenching my cold hands. I followed him to our room. When he opened the door and we both came in, I quickly smelled how manly it was. There is a king size bed in the middle. A couch on the side. A vanity mirror on the left side, where everything I need is surely there. “That's your walk-in closet and this is mine,” he said. So, the right one is mine. “Okay,” I replied blankly. “I'm taking a shower.” He simply nodded and headed out. I was so thankful when he did that. So, I quickly took a bath and prepared to sleep. I hope the honeymoon doesn't cross his mind for god's sake. “You took a bath?” I asked when he came back and his hair was already soaked. He already changed his clothes earlier. “Yes,” he replied and headed to the bed. It was a moment of silence between us. It feels so awkward. “I know you're not fine,” he mentioned, which made me stop. I couldn't answer. “Something's strange. When I first met you, you were smiling so much. I even hated you,” he chuckled. “W-Why?” I stuttered. “Because all you do is to agree to whatever your parents tell you. You didn't even do anything to stop this marr—” “Are you saying that you don't want to marry me?” I asked sharply. He smirked. “Come on, Bria. We both don't want this,” he uttered. My blood just started to boil. I suddenly want to punch him. “Then, that's enough reason for us not to be in the same room.” I said and gave him a sarcastic smile. “Bria, it's not wh—” “What? We're doing this marriage because they told us to. Am I right, Theodore Williams?” I raised my brows at him and he couldn't say anything. “Happy wedding,” I greeted him before I left that fucking room. He's pushing me to reveal my true demon color. What a great first night with my husband.Chapter 5Theodore's POV “Why are you calling? Don't you have a wife?” Travis irritatingly said to me over the phone. I was standing on the balcony of our room but my eyes were pinned to the next room where my wife stayed the whole night. Is she awake or still sleeping? “I just got married yesterday,” I uttered and sighed. “Exactly! It should be your honeymoon with her. Why the hell are you messing with me?” Irritation cannot be hidden from his voice. “You're being obscene. I'm still older than you,” I can't believe I am using that card. It feels good though. I heard how he immediately laughed on the line as if he was gonna lose his mind. “Who cares? Seriously, what the hell is your problem, huh?” He finally asked after complaining for so long. I heaved a sigh and remained my eyes on the balcony of her room. “We fought last night,” I admitted. This is why I hate marriage. I cannot do anything to leave her because for god's sake, we're already tied to each other. “You fought?
PrologueThe WilliamsBriana's POV“I'm sorry, Ms. Briana! I didn't mean to forgot about it. It's just that I am really experiencing depression right now because of my break up with my boyfriend!” The woman was crying a river in front of me.My eyes were closed trying to find peace. But how can I find peace when I am hearing the same old song from this employee of mine? My ears were bleeding by hearing her reason for the third time. “Please give me another chance, Ms. Briana! I promise that I will do it immediately! This is all my fault for n—”“Of course, it's your fault.” I opened my eyes and finally laid my cold eyes at her. I saw how she froze the moment I glanced at her. She looks totally devastated right now. Her eyes were swollen—definitely because of crying to her boyfriend who kept cheating on her. What an idiot. “Who do you think fault is it? Should it be my fault that you're being irresponsible for your job?” I asked sharply. She's already on the verge of losing her job.
Chapter 1Stepping inAll of the Barbara’s men were around Bria's condo. They were all cleaning the crime that happened inside. Wiping my twin sister's blood and carrying the body of Bria out of the room. They were making sure that no one gets to know what happened yet, concealing the truth. “My goodness,” it was my mother, Britney Barbara. “Who did this to our daughter? Who?!” I heard how my father screamed in overflowing pain in his chest. I was on the floor with my knees folded. My eyes were glued to the floor where I saw my twin die. It was already immaculate as if no one died there. But then, Bria's picture lying on the floor covered with her own blood was all I could see. I was trembling and I felt how cold my entire body was. My hands were crumpled like pieces of paper. “Briana,” my mother blocked my eyesight as she knelt in front of me and cupped my face softly. I couldn't move. I couldn't process everything that happened. The tears coming out of my eyes couldn't even stop
Chapter 2 No turning backThey have this saying that when the twins are far and apart from each other, they both feel incomplete, as if half of them is missing. In my case, losing Bria means I won't be complete anymore. Would I become incomplete for the rest of my life ‘til the day I die? That saying was surreal. I never knew that it was actually true. Because right now, I feel totally incomplete. I feel like half of me has been gone ever since Bria died. “My Bria,” my Mom's voice cracked as she cried on my father's chest. All of us were crying while Bria's coffin was being buried slowly. We are all wearing black, grieving and mourning with the pain we all feel. You know what's funny? It was pouring. The sky was painted with gray, invading the entire world with its loneliness. It was so sad and lonely as if the sky was also grieving with our family. I can hear all their sobs and how they were crying aloud. Here I am, watching the men throw and cover my twin's coffin with the soil w
Chapter 3Watch me“You're the most beautiful bride that I ever saw,” the woman said. I can see how enticed she was by looking at me in the mirror. I remained staring at myself as well. It should be Bria who was supposed to be here and not me. How did all of this happen and I ended up replacing her? I was indeed gorgeous and stunning with this expensive wedding gown filled with crystals and diamonds all over it. “You can go now,” I commanded when Kirsten just went inside the room. “That's the gown Bria chose,” she uttered while staring at me. “If you will pretend to be her, you must learn how to smile a lot. You know your twin well more than anyone else.” She suggested and landed her hands on my shoulders. Kirsten never failed to amaze us with all her designs. The gown was amazing and comfortable. It was a tube gown and yet she managed to make it special.“You look gorgeous,” Freya commented as she came inside. There was Adam behind her as well, smoking when he's already wearing hi
