Chapter 50

I gathered my quartet of warriors along with the soon-to-be pack beta, Stone, and we all walked the short distance to our house. On the way there, I asked Stone, “Why are you on duty with me instead of Alex?” He answered, “Alex is currently busy in the dungeon. Unfortunately, Alpha Roman and his beta just ensured that he will be busy for most of the night.”

I shook my head, “No, the council will be here soon, so their investigators will interrogate them before they die.” Stone sighed in relief, “That will be good. In the meantime, I am in charge of your safety. Therefore, when we get to your house, you will give me the key and I will clear the house with three of your warriors. I don’t want a repeat of the incident that you just dealt with.”

I nodded, “I agree. I don’t want another episode like that.” When we got to my house, I handed the house key to Stone and he motioned for the rest of my warriors to come with him. Tayna stayed on the porch with me while we heard each person inside
