Alpha Kenny growled in irritation, “I will not have Zariah risking her life any more tonight. You two go to bed. Someone here clearly has a death wish to keep trying to poison you.”

Isaac growled, “I agree. Dad, I would go to the cells with you, but…” Alpha Kenny shook his head, “No, your place is with your mate tonight. There is no need for you to be anywhere else.”

Isaac kept his arm around my waist as we walked to our room, surrounded by warriors. When we got there, the warriors cleared the suite before we stepped inside. We had constant guards outside our door all night and Alex slept on the couch in our sitting room.

Isaac and I went to our room and I grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top, then went to the bathroom. Isaac grabbed a pair of pajama bottoms and joined me.

As we took our shower, Isaac took my loofah from me and started washing my back for me. He then turned me around and started washing the rest of my body. He successfully conveyed his feelings for me through his ac

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed. I sat up and looked around only to find a note where my mate had slept. It read, “I hated to leave you alone this morning, but dad needed me in the cells. Alex is with me, but Tayna is on the couch while the rest of your warriors are scattered from outside our door all the way to the end of our floor.“It looks like we are going to be super busy today. Just know that I will do my best to be by your side as much as possible. In the meantime, please don’t go anywhere at all without your guards. I couldn’t live with myself if anything happened to you, love. I love you with everything I am, Isaac.”I smiled and gushed as I held the note to my chest and put it in a safe place. I wanted to keep it forever. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take my shower. When I was done, I put on a cute sundress and a pair of sandals, then brushed out my hair. Since I washed it last night, I decided to leave it alone today. I put a small, tight braid on

We all sat down on the sectional sofa in the corner opposite my coffee bar and we visited and killed time before getting ready for the ceremony. I got comfortable and told Luna Kyra about my visit from the Goddess. She sighed, “Well, it’s nice to know that there won’t be any issues during the ceremony. That has to be a relief for you.”I nodded, “It is. It looks like we have a while before the dark witches will be here. Isaac and I need to work on strategies and practice our abilities after tonight. If we are going to be successful, we really need to perfect our abilities and learn how we can be the most useful.”Luna Kyra suggested, “Of all your abilities that I’ve seen to date, I really think your ability to control minds is your best one. You need to get better at controlling minds and controlling larger numbers of minds.” I nodded, “I do too. I really think that is where I will be most useful.”We sat in my office until it was time for me to get ready. As a treat, Luna Kyra hired a

I tried to smile without laughing out loud while Axel continued walking me toward my mate, my Alpha, my best friend, and my love, my Isaac. The closer we got to him, the more I could see his eyes glistening with unshed tears. When I reached my place on the stage, Axel kissed my cheek and walked to his place next to his mate. When the crowd settled into their seats, Alpha Kenny started, “We are here tonight to witness the transfer of the Alpha power to my son, Isaac and to transfer the Luna power to his goddess-given mate, Zariah.” The crowd applauded wildly and Alpha Kenny allowed it until it died down.He continued, “First, Isaac, do you swear to lead our pack with honesty, honor, courage, and fairness?” Isaac looked at his father with his chest pushed out in pride, “I do.” He asked, “Do you swear to protect our pack from all enemies and elements?” He answered, “I do.”Alpha Kenny asked, “Will you swear to uphold our laws, but forge your own path on where you want our pack to follow?”

When we reached the hall for the reception, we had a large crowd already assembled. They were waiting for us to make our entrance and start the dancing by getting on the dance floor. We walked in followed by Kenny and Kyra, then Stone and Alex with their dates.Isaac pulled me close to him and led me to the dance floor. When we got there, we embraced each other for a slow song and started dancing, each staring into the other’s eyes as we swayed to the music. While we danced, Isaac asked, “Are you okay?” I nodded, “Perfect. And you?” He smiled gloriously, “Absolutely perfect. I want you to know that I will spend every day for the rest of my life striving to be the mate you deserve.” I chuckled, “You don’t even have to try. I already feel that I don’t deserve you.”He asked, “Is this going to be one of those sickeningly cute arguments couples have?” I threw my head back and laughed out loud, “Uh, no. We can save our children from that disgust.” He laughed, “You got it.”As the song ended

Isaac explained, “Zariah is feeling like she is being watched. Is there anything you can do to see if you can find them?” She answered, “That would not be easy right now, Alpha. Zariah is being watched by many people right now. It would be easier to see if we can find them after the reception.” I nodded, “That makes sense.”Winnie suggested, “I would like to be able to teleport into your room when you are almost ready to go up there. I have a feeling that I will find the culprit in there.” Isaac nodded, “I think you’re right. We will let you know when we are almost ready to go.”She lowered her gaze, “I will be happy to help, Alpha and Luna.” I grinned widely at her, “Queen Winnie, we will always just be Isaac and Zariah to you.” Winnie winked at us and popped out to continue her patrols. As the reception continued late into the night, the sensation of being watched kept growing. The idea of someone with evil intentions watching me was grating on my nerves so much that I was becoming h

I noticed that she was in Isaac’s room in the pack house. I looked around in her mind to see if I could see her intentions. She looked at Isaac and I could feel the anger she was feeling at being ignored. She continued singing and I took control of her hand.I saw that she had sharp claws so I grabbed her neck with her own hand. I stepped back slightly, so she could see what she was doing to herself. I made her dig her claws into her neck and pull out her vocal cords. She started gurgling as her airway filled with blood.I stepped completely out and gave her complete control again. She looked at her hand that was still holding a portion of her throat and she looked at me with wide eyes as she gurgled, “War. Is. Coming.” She then dropped to the floor and died.Alastair laughed, “Winnie, you underestimated your student. You didn’t need us at all.” I laughed, “I didn’t know I could do that either.” I stepped back from Isaac and realized that I wasn’t as drained as I thought I would be.Q

After a restful night’s sleep in the guest room and a particularly steamy shower with my mate when we woke up, we walked downstairs to the dining room to get some breakfast. When we walked through the door, all of the warriors stood and spoke in unison, “Our Alpha and Luna! We pledge to fight for you and we will gladly sacrifice our lives to be sure you are safe.”I looked up at my mate’s face and his eyes were shining through unshed tears… just like mine. I bowed my head to them while Isaac smiled, “My warriors we all serve our pack. We will all gladly sacrifice our lives to ensure our pack is safe. I am proud to serve beside you. I will never ask you to go where I would not go myself.”We went to the buffet tables and filled our plates. When we sat at our table, his parents followed us. Former Alpha Kenny smiled at his son, “Isaac, I am so proud of you. You handled the siren situation without panicking the pack.”Isaac shrugged, “It was more my Luna than me. I jumped up from my chair, shut and locked the door. I took Lena’s hand and asked, “Would it be okay for me to hug you?” With tears in her eyes, she nodded. We went over to my couch and I held her tightly, comforting her with my mother luna aura. She was crying the most hurtful cry I had ever heard and it caused me to cry.I continued looking into her memories as I held her and let her let it all out. The level of abuse in all forms just totally floored me. I kept trying to find out where her mother was during all this. It didn’t take long before I found her mother. Her mother’s chosen mate had not just beaten her mother until she was near death, but he also cut her throat with a silver knife. When he finished, he approached Lena, “Now no one is stopping me.” That was when the emotional and physical abuse turned into attempted sexual abuse. It was only because she had been taking our self-defense classes that he was not successful. When Lena’s crying settled down, I asked, “Do you have

Two Years LaterI was helping Aadi with refreshments when I heard Lena yell for me, “MOM!” I rushed to her room, tires squealing as I turned the corner into her room, “What’s up, sweetheart?” She was standing there, at the foot of her bed in nothing but her bra and panties with a huge pile of dresses on her bed, “I can’t find anything to where and they are going to be here in less than an hour!”I chuckled because we go through this every time Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn come down for a visit, “Okay sweetie, let’s see what your options are. We don’t want formal because that’s just too much, so take all the formal gowns out.” That reduced one foot of the pile.I sighed, “Okay, are you feeling any particular color for today?” She shrugged, “I don’t know.” I suggested, “I would love to see you in something that highlights your eyes. You have beautiful eyes and he needs to see that.” She giggled, “He already has. He’s always told me I have beautiful eyes.” I smiled, “Then we need to show

The following month, Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn brought their two boys and one girl to visit our pack. The poor girl, Elizabeth, was stuck, in age, between both of her brothers, with no sister to have her back.Their oldest son, Lucas, was fifteen and held himself as a future alpha but he was also trying not to seem unreachable. He kept staring at Lena in awe, but it almost seemed as though he was afraid to approach her. I chuckled, “It’s okay if you want to hang out with Lena. Just stay where we can see you.”He let out a breath and walked up to her, “Would you like to take a walk?” She answered as she blushed a bright shade of pink, “I would love to.” As they walked away, I couldn’t help but notice the awestruck look on his face as he kept his eyes on her. I smiled at Isaac knowingly and Isaac nodded in acknowledgement. Aadi chuckled, “We may have a pair of mates.”Blaine approached Elizabeth, “Would you like to take a walk?” Elizabeth agreed and she started walking next to his whe

Within minutes, there were at least one hundred snakes covering his body, biting him, while he screamed in pain and terror. Blaine nodded and all of the snakes stopped biting and started climbing the wall to leave the same way they came in.He was still conscious and yelling obscenities at Blaine while our son laughed, “I’m glad you’re still awake, Devlin. If you thought that was bad, wait until you see what is next.” He nodded at the guards and Heather withdrew the tree roots. We all walked outside and the guards roughly dragged him outside and just let him drop, face up onto the ground. He looked at Heather and she smiled, “Happy to help, brother.” The tree roots started winding their way up his arms again.Devlin asked, “So what now?” He smiled, “This is going to be better than expected. You are going to see your end coming and feel every bit of the pain. Rot in hell, Devlin Thorn. You deserve no less.”We all stepped back and watched as two panthers approached him. He screamed like

We all went into the pack house and I asked if they would like some lunch before we go to the dungeons. Luna Kathryn asked, “Are you planning to go to the dungeon?” I nodded, “Blaine has a rather unconventional execution planned. We can go in Isaac’s office and tell you about it.”We sat in the lounge area of his office and Isaac started, “The first thing you need to know is that the prisoner is Blaine’s biological father. He kidnapped and raped his mother multiple times before she was able to escape. Not long after Blaine was born, he found them and tried to kill Blaine because he didn’t want kids. That’s how Blaine became paralyzed.”Luna Kathryn gasped, “Oh my Goddess! You poor child. You are so lucky to have survived.”Blaine spoke up, “It was the Goddess’ will that I survived. I have spent my whole life following Her path for me and I will until I die. Dad and I spent the last year looking for him so that I could get my justice. I’m just glad my biological mother kept track of him

One year later, I was at my desk in the office at the pack house, working on the books for the pack. I took a deep breath and sat back in my chair, thinking back on the past year. The kids have improved by leaps and bounds. My mind went to Blaine’s breakthrough moment.FlashbackShortly after I came home from the hospital, I had been resting on the couch because I wanted time with my family. The girls had gone to the kitchen to make a snack when Blaine approached me and laid his head on my chest. He asked, “Mom, can you tell me the whole truth about my father? Isaac is my dad, but I need to know about the guy who got my mom pregnant.” Isaac smiled and nodded at me. I looked at Aadi and she nodded also.I explained, “Well, your mom told me that he was a terrible man who had kidnapped her to sell her to some traffickers. He raped her multiple times before she was able to escape. I don’t know his name though.”Aadi added, “She told me that his name is Devlin Thorn. When you were a tiny ba

I gasped, “Three weeks?! What the hell was wrong with me?!” Isaac started trying to soothe me, “It’s okay, love. They were able to fix it. You had a brain aneurism. It burst just as you got here to see the doctor. They were able to stop the bleeding and fix the aneurism through your carotid artery.”I sighed as Isaac continued, “If you hadn’t been here, in this hospital, when you passed out, you could have bled out and died. They called me and told me to get to the hospital, and I jumped out of bed and ran for the hospital.”I furrowed my brow, “I remember you telling me that they were doing surgery, but I was out again before I could ask why.” He smiled, “I’m just so happy that you are still with us. The kids will be so happy that you are awake.”The doctor walked in and I shrugged, “I’m back, doc.” He laughed, “Yes, you are, Luna. I’m very happy to see you awake. I need to check and see if there are any neurological issues. Aneurisms can do that.”He checked the strength in my arms a

When we got home, Blaine had a huge grin on his face. Isaac lifted him out of his chair and put him on his lap. I asked, “So, sweetheart, how long have you been able to control animals?” Blaine blushed, “Since I was three. I can’t talk to them, but I can control what they do.”I smiled, “That is a really cool ability. Can you do that with humans?” He shook his head, “No. Just animals. But I can control their wolves after they shift.” I smiled, “Now that’s awesome. We make a perfect set. I can control humans.” Blaine’s eyes lit up, “Really?” I nodded, “Really.”Heather smiled, “Wow! That’s really cool!” She then put a somber look on her face, “Just do me a favor?” I asked, “What, sweetheart?” She sighed, “Just don’t do it to me?” Blaine and I laughed, “We wouldn’t even think about it.”Blaine explained, “I used to play with small animals when no kids would play with me. The staff would get mad at me for having a rabbit or a squirrel on my lap. When they would start saying hurtful things

Thirty minutes later, the guards were bringing the prisoner out of the dungeon and chaining his hands and feet to a large pole. Isaac and some warriors found a clearing in the forest that was just large enough to have the sun beat down on him the entire day.I growled as I watched him being pulled by a chain attached to a silver collar around his neck. I was quite pleased with the amount of silver attached to him. Just knowing his skin was being burned at each area made me smile.I asked Isaac, “Did you mind link Aadi to let her know where he is?” Isaac nodded, “I did. She linked the hospital staff to let them know.”My mate’s eyes glazed over as he received a mind link. Then, when his eyes cleared, he turned to me, “Our son wants the very last blow. He says he doesn’t need to be here. He wants to make the last one hurt the most.” I furrowed my brow, “I wonder what he is planning on doing.” He smiled, “It seems that our son has an ability that we know nothing about.”I nodded, “You are

When we reached the pack house, Isaac gave me a kiss and smiled, “I’ll see you at lunch time, love. I want to make sure you eat today.” I nodded, “Okay. I’m sure I’ll be starving by then. Did you want to start the interrogations this afternoon? We have a few to do.” Isaac ran his hands through his hair, “I forgot all about that. Yeah, we should do that this afternoon.”I spent my morning on the pack books and entering receipts. I was so glad that I was done with that part by nine a.m. and I mind linked Isaac’s dad, “Kenny, would you like to take some time to talk about the pack’s investment portfolio?” Kenny answered, “I would love to, Zariah. I’ll be there shortly.”After nearly three hours of discussing existing investments and then choosing a few new ones, I suggested we start looking for some real estate to invest in also. He agreed with that idea and said he would look around. We agreed to meet again in a couple weeks. As we finished our meeting, my brain started hurting and I was
