Chapter 81

Mia’s POV

By the time I got back to my apartment, it was almost midnight.

“Thank you,” I said to the cab guy and brought out my keys as I walked to the entrance of my apartment.

I inserted the key and turned it to the right twice. The door came open, and I went in. It was pitch dark inside. I could not recall turning off the light as we left the house in a hurry; the only thing we could grab were our phones, which Laura had to run back in to get.

My hands rummaged through the wall in search of the switch. I turned the light on, and the sight that greeted me left me petrified.

Nathan was sitting right there in my living room, with his back resting against the sofa and arms spread out comfortably.

“How did you get in here?” I asked with one of my hands clutching my chest to help my heartbeat subside.

“I came to see you since you blocked me everywhere. Despite pleading with you to talk to me.”

“I don’t want to talk to you! Don’t you get it? We are done, Nathan. Done!” I emphasized.
