Mia’s POV

“I can’t believe you get to work a real job." Pollen smiled broadly, and I feared her cheeks might hurt.

“What are you talking about? I’ve had real jobs,” I said under my breath while smiling at myself.

She was right. I have never really worked with an actual organization. I was either filling in for someone who isn’t around or working as a babysitter for some lower-class families. I later stopped that and relied solely on Nathan, whom I used to live with. After the abuse started, I had to move out. To survive, I sold wigs online. Even that crashed after some time. I was left with no choice but to sell some of the jewelry my late mother left me, and that was how I was able to get my current apartment and some money for maintenance until I got another job.
