“I’d rather be locked up than to stay in that house 24/7, knowing fully well that he’ll come for me again,” I said when I saw how much Alex meant everything he said.

He froze when I said that, a reaction I knew was bound to happen. When I asked him to stay the night after Nathan’s second attack, he refused, but when I mentioned something similar to what I just said, he instantly gave in.

“Please let me work for just three months. I will be going to Air Stewardess school by then. And I will be out of your life and your company for good.” I pleaded with my sky blue almond eyes, trying hard to pour water.

“Fine, I'll give you a chance at the job. But you need to understand that you owe me big time. You lied to get the job, and I shouldn't be giving you this chance. But I am, so you better make the most out of this and not give me any reason to regret my decision."
