Chapter 26

Reed’s POV

River Valley Pack is a buzz with cars coming and going. More and more wolves arrive by the hour. Council Member Charles and the rest of the Council Member’s are due today. Maybe the protection detail is been overcautious. But once I give him my report, I can thankfully get back to the Mountain Creek Pack.

The new arrivals look like they are preparing for something intense happening. I walk out and try to speak to a few of them, but they just grunt at me.

“Reed. Reed.” a small voice yells. I turned around, and I saw her. Freya comes bouncing towards me. She shouldn’t be seeing what is going on here. I took her gently by the hand. “Come on Freya. Let’s find something to do.”
