Nix’s POV

As soon as I stepped over the barrier line, I felt a sharp pain in my neck, it caused me to shout out. To make matters worse, my entire body felt heavy. I was fine a few seconds ago. Now I felt pathetically weak. I have never felt this way. “What is happening?” I asked Diesel. “I don’t know.”

It took me longer to get to Lottie than I would have liked. When I saw the car, I knew it was Reed’s. How has he ended up here? Where has he been?

I watch Lottie using her elemental power to fight off the wolves. I went to collect Reed, however, I couldn’t. I wasn’t strong enough to pick him up. “What is going on? Why am I struggling so much?” I said to Diesel.

The next time I tried to pick him up, it was easier. It makes me feel like I am getting back to normal, but then I see Caren using her ability. It’s not me, it’s her. I grabbed him, as she needed to protect us. But it is an effort.
