Chapter 60

Sarah’s POV:

I stirred on the bed with a wide smile on my face. I woke up in the morning and stretched happily in bed. I woke up feeling happy because all my plans had been falling into place.

I rolled out of bed and dressed in a white knee-length dress. My make-up was flawless, and my hair was neatly stretched.

I watched as the maid walked inside my room to do her morning cleaning and prepared my bath.

“Hey, go get me a glass of fresh orange drink before you start cleaning,” I ordered.

I couldn't contain my happiness anymore. I was filled with so much joy. I and my mother are also taking a bold step today, and that will completely ruin Elena’s life.

I must stop at nothing to see that she is thrown out, and I will become the real Mrs. Nicklaus Coleman.

I stood up, raised my shoulders high, walked to the sky-view mirror, and admired the beautiful compound. “It is indeed a bright and sunny day, isn't it, Marina?” I asked, turning back to the maid with a smile.

“Yes, ma'am,” she said.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. It was swung open, and standing in the doorway was my mother.

She was dressed in black trousers and a black jacket. Her make-up was perfect, and her hair was packed in a sleek bun.

“Sarah,” she called. Staring at me from afar. Her eyes sparkled.

"Yes, Mother,” I answered.

“Shall we?” she asked.

“Yes, we shall,” I said, and I walked out of the room, taking my handbag and walking into the hallway.

The driver zoomed into the street in Los Angeles. After a short drive, we arrived at Xavier Enterprises.

My mother turned to me and said, “If this meeting is a success, we have to celebrate tonight.”.

I nodded my head, and we both stepped out of the car. We were everywhere, and we commanded everybody’s attention.

“Good day, Mrs. Williams, Miss Sarah Williams,” she greeted.

We nodded our heads with a smile in acknowledgement.

“Mr. Xavier had been able to expect you both. Please come with me,” she said, leading the way. We followed her from behind.

“You may go in,” she said, then walked away.

My mother and I took the lead from there and walked into the office. Mr. Xavier sat behind his desk, and his eyes were fixed on it.

“It's a pleasure to see you, Mrs. Williams and Miss Sarah,” he said, walking up to us. He pecked both of us on the cheeks and gestured for us to sit down. “Please have your seats,” he said.

“What would you like me to do for you both? It is an honour to have you both in my office,” he chuckled.

“Never mind, we are here for business,” my mother said, dropping her bag on the table and relaxing on the chair.

Mr. Xavier raised his eyebrows and looked at the both of us. “Business,” he spoke as he poured himself a glass of whisky.

“Do you wish to invest in my company?” he asked.

My mother adjusted her sitting position and crossed her legs. “That is quite the contrary. I want you to sell me some of your shares,” she said.

He creased his eyebrows and chuckled lightly. His facial expression turned serious. “Sell my shares? What shares?”

“Sell me all of your shares in the Coleman enterprises,” she said.

Mr. Xavier's facial expression hardened. “Sell my shares to you? Do you know how hard it was for me to be granted shares in the Coleman Company? Why would I sell all of it to you?” He asked.

“I don't owe you an explanation,” my mother responded.

“Yes, do you. You could easily get shares from the Coleman company since your daughter is married to Mr. Coleman,” he said.

“As I said, Mr. Xavier, I owe you no explanation, and you have no choice but to see it to me, unless you want the whole world to know how you have been using this enterprise to embezzle funds into your pocket.” My mother spoke with so much confidence.

“Mrs. Williams, please reduce your voice,” he whispered, looking around.

“Nervous? it's just us in your office,” she laughed.

He exhaled deeply and gave us a calculative look for some time before speaking up, “Listen, Mrs. Williams. I will do just as you have said, but I can't sell all of my shares to you. It would be suspicious. Mr. Coleman wouldn't trust me,” he said.

"Well, nobody had ever trusted you. It's fine since you do not want to agree to any terms. Were leaving. Get ready to see your picture all over the news tomorrow at home because you won't be allowed to make use of the place anymore,” my mother said as she stood up from her chair.

Mr. Xavier stood up immediately to stop her from leaving. “It hasn't gotten to that, Mrs. Willams; it's fine. I will sell my shares to you. I just need a few days to get the papers ready,” he said.

I cut in, “You don't need to get the documents ready," and I brought out a file from my bag. I fixed my eyes on him. “Just sign this, and we have a deal,” I said.

He reluctantly took the file from my hand and signed it with his trembling hands.

“It's nice doing business with you,” I said, and we both stood up to leave.
