Chapter 108

Third person's POV:

Alex managed to give everything up by changing the topic and talking about something else. He didn't want to bother Elena by telling her about Nicklaus's appearance in his penthouse.

He knew he had to do everything to make Elena regain her freedom so that he could make his decisions known to her and be brave enough to show her how much he loved her. He didn't want her to start gaining feelings back, got Nicklaus and thought about it. He is very scared to lose her this time around.

He lost her to Caleb and went away. Now that he is back and has her to himself, he wouldn't risk it anymore.

Elena also enjoyed Alex's company but tried to keep a little distance and stop herself from falling for him because she knew that it would cause her pain if she let her feelings grow for Alex. With everything that had happened, she had already given up on love and had promised to take care of her little one.

Alex walked into Nicklaus’s father's company. He had fixed a meeting with him without Elena's knowledge, and Mr. Coleman was eager to know what the meeting was all about.

He had discussed with his son, Nicklaus, how he wanted to hasten up the marriage plans with Sarah so that he could finally retire. He wanted Nicklaus to start a family and become very responsible so that he would be rest assured that his lineage would continue.

He still wants that power and wealth in the family.

The doorbell rang, and Mr. Coleman spoke. “Come in,” he said. He knew that Alex had set up a meeting with him, and he watched him as he walked into the office.

“Good day, Mr. Coleman,” Alex greeted and extended his hands for a handshake.

Me Coleman stood up from his chair. “Good day, Mr. Alex. What a pleasant surprise to see you, her,” he said and returned a handshake. “Would you like something to drink?” he asked.

“No, thank you, Mr. Coleman. I have come to discuss something very important with you.” He spoke gently.

Mr. Coleman stared at him for a while. “I hope you are not coming to plead with me to drop the charges against your client because nobody messes with my money and goes free,” he spoke. His voice was deep and firm.

Alex exhaled and sat upright. “That's quite the contrary. That is not why I am here, Mr. Coleman. Rather, I am here to plead with you that you grant Miss Elena Williams bail.” he spoke.

There was silence in the room. Mr. Coleman chuckled and puffed his cigarettes. “You know all of Elena’s accounts had been frozen, right?” he asked.

Alex nodded his head. “I am fully aware of that,” he responded.

“Then where do you expect her to pay her bail?” He asked and rested his hands on the table.

“We will look for a way to handle that. Since there isn't clear evidence that she stole from you, we both know that where she was was that day and time. In order for us not to waste time with investigations that may still come out wrong, I would like to plead with you and your lawyer,” he said calmly, making eye contact and trying to convince them.

Mr. Coleman narrowed his eyes for a while; he was deep in thought. He never messes with his money and his business, so that would be a way to let Elena off Nicklaus's back and get him to marry Sarah so that he could retire in peace.

He is getting tired of handling a lot of business when he is supposed to retire and rest while his next of kin do that, which is why he wants Nicklaus to produce him and his heir.

Alex pleaded, "Sir, I need you to do this for Elena.” he spoke. “You know her bail is $500000, right?” He paused, and Alex nodded his head.

“I just need her out of my son's life before she causes any more harm. I will speak with my lawyers, and you will hear from us tomorrow,” he said.

Alex felt grateful for Mr. Coleman’s consideration: “Thank you for the kind gesture, Mr. Coleman. I appreciate it,” he said.

“It's fine. Just know that I do not joke with what belongs to me, and there shouldn't be any time wasted,” he warned.

Alex stood up and gave him a handshake. “There won't be a waste of time. see you tomorrow,” Alex said and walked out of the office, gently closing the door behind him.

He felt excited that his offer worked. He had been reading about similar cases all night long and the idea struck him. He decided to try it out with the Coleman and see if it would work.

He doesn't care about the money. He would give it to them just so that Elena could be free from their wrath.
