Chapter 76

"Hello Arka, it's been a while since we met." Smiling happily, Jenny seats herself right next to Arka.

Currently Arka is at a cafe, the man came there to meet with Jenny's father to discuss Mr. Smith. But who would have thought that Jenny's father was not alone, the middle-aged man came with Jenny.

Honestly, Arka was quite upset. The man felt so uncomfortable being near Jenny because Jenny kept trying to get close to him, even the woman did not hesitate to touch his hand. Several times Arka reprimanded her but instead of stopping, Jenny seemed not to hear her. Because she was too tired of reprimanding Jenny, Arka finally decided to ignore her. Choosing to focus on her goal of meeting Jenny's father.

"Good afternoon Arka, sorry I'm a little late."

With a faint smile, Arka nodded.

Not wanting to waste too much time and linger with Jenny, Arka immediately began her chat. Without further ado, the man immediately tells her his purpose in bringing Jenny's father to meet.

"Your father contacted me last night. So Mr. Smith is planning to invest in your father's company?"

Arka nodded.

"That's good. Mr. Smith's reach and impact is huge. If he does invest in your father's company, your father's company will definitely grow rapidly."

Again, Arka nodded. 

"Then what does that have to do with me? There's no way you'd ask me to meet if there wasn't a purpose?"

"So here it is, sir. Mr. Smith told my father that if I bring you along when I meet him, then he will invest in my company. So basically, Mr. Smith wants to invest as long as you are present. At least your presence at the meeting."

"So you want me to accompany you or your father to meet Mr. Smith?"

Arka nodded.

"Aren't we not cooperating at all?"

"That's true. I'm not forcing you to work with me or my father anymore, I just want to ask for your help in convincing Mr. Smith to invest in my company. I hope you can help me."

Jenny's father was silent and thoughtful. Honestly, Arka didn't expect much, he was even ready if he refused to help him. The reason why Arka wanted to meet him was because of her father's order that he try to ask Jenny's father for help.

"How yes. Hmm actually this is quite difficult. I mean there will be no benefit for me if I help you. Moreover, I am also very busy, there is no time to do something that is not profitable for me."

"It's okay if you can't help me."

"Actually, I can. If you want, I will persuade Mr. Smith to invest in your company as long as Jenny works in your company as your secretary."

"What do you mean?"

Arka was quite surprised to hear Jenny's father's request. How could he not, suddenly the middle-aged man wanted his daughter to work in his company as his secretary. 

"Look Arka, Mr. Smith won't want to invest if I don't have a hand in your company. It's useless if I just accompany you to meet him, it won't be easy to persuade him. Since I'm busy taking care of my own business, I made Jenny my representative to work in your company. That way Mr. Smith will invest in your company because Jenny is my representative. How's that?"

Not only was Arka surprised to hear what Jenny's father had just said, but Jenny herself was equally surprised. She hadn't expected her father to have such a good plan to make her Arka's secretary.

"Think about it, I'm not forcing you. But I can assure you that if it wasn't for me, Mr. Smith wouldn't want to invest there."

Although it sounded quite subtle, Arka understood that everything your father Jenny said was a threat or subtle coercion.

"But I already have a secretary. And isn't Jenny already working as an intern at the college?"

"She's already quit."

Again, Arka remained silent. Honestly, he was very confused right now. On the one hand he didn't want to make Jenny his secretary, but on the other hand he wanted Mr. Smith to invest in his father's company.

It was already 5pm on the wall and Arka hadn't come home yet. He usually came home at 4pm if he was on time.

Bored at home alone and honestly scared, Naya decided to go to Yuna's house with Kenzo.

"Yes. Yuna, where were you yesterday afternoon? Why aren't your and Juna's numbers active?"

"You called me and Juna?"

Naya nodded. "Yes, around 5pm. So yesterday I just came back from my mom's house to pick up Kenzo. Kenzo and I took an online taxi home. But I felt that the driver was weird, so I decided to get off in the middle of the ride. But the street was very quiet. I tried to call Arka but her number was not active. Your number and Juna's are the same."

Yuna was a little surprised to hear Naya's story. She looked worried and immediately asked about her and Kenzo's condition.

"Oh my gosh Naya, sorry. Yesterday afternoon Juna and I went out but we didn't know that our cell phones were both out of battery. So what did you take home? Are you and Kenzo okay?"

"It's okay. Yesterday I accidentally met Zack. So I went home with him."

"Zack? The guy who often helps you?"

Naya nodded.

"Strange, how come you guys accidentally met again? I mean, whenever you need help, he'll come right away. It's like it was planned."

"What do you mean?"

you're in trouble. She seems to know when you're in danger."

Naya was silent. The woman also agreed with Yuna but she also did not want to accuse Zack of deliberately getting her in trouble because it was very unlikely.
