Chapter 111

"Good afternoon. My name is Juna, I'm a friend of Arka and Naya."

Juna is currently at Arka's parents' house. Incidentally, Arka's father had just returned from work, so the man could meet Arka's parents.

Juna's arrival seemed to be welcomed by Arka's parents.

"So, the purpose of my coming here is to deliver a message from Arka."

"What message? Does that child not want to meet his parents so much that he has to leave a message with you?" Arka's father asked in a slightly raised tone.

"It's not like this. How to say it. I actually have something to tell you. Arka is currently detained at the police station, so she can't meet you."

You can see how shocked Arka's mother was when she heard the news Juna had just said. The middle-aged woman even burst into tears after learning that her only child was currently in prison.

Arka's father, on the other hand, did not seem surprised. The middle-aged man already knew that Arka was being held at the police station. That's why he wasn't so surprised when Juna told him the news.

"How come? Has she really been proven guilty? How is this?" Arka's mother asked frantically.

"I can't say anything about that. I've only been asked by Arka to tell the ladies and gentlemen. Arka wants to apologize for disappointing you."

"Juna, your name is Juna, right? Can you come with me for a moment? I have something to talk to you about."

Arka's father finally invited Juna to come to his office in the house to talk with him, while Arka's mother was asked to return to the room because the middle-aged woman was still not fully recovered.

Now Arka and Arka's father are alone. There Arka's father tries to ask the truth, whether Arka is really guilty or not. Arka's father also told Juna that he had hired a lawyer to help Arka.

"Whether it's true or not I can't answer, uncle. However, this is beyond my right to answer. But if you ask me if I believe Arka has done that, I don't fully believe it. Even though all the evidence points to him, I believe Arka is innocent."

"Why are you so sure?"

"I don't know. I haven't known Arka for long but I'm sure he's a good person."

Arka's father smiled slightly. At least there was someone like him, hoping that none of this was true.

"Juna, is there still a chance for Arka to be free? Or can there be a chance to prove Arka's innocence? Even though I'm disappointed, I'm angry but Arka is still my son. I want the best for him."

"Om, don't worry, I will help you find proof of Arka's innocence."

"Thank you Juna. By the way, can you leave your cell phone number? I'll let my lawyer contact you if there's a need."

Juna nodded before giving her cell phone number to Arka's father. 

After chatting for a while, and before she knew it, it was already night time, Juna decided to excuse herself. The pri promised Arka's father that he would help find evidence of Arka's innocence.

Arka was sitting huddled in a holding cell. The man had never expected to be a resident of that place. It all felt like a dream, he never imagined he would live there.

The prison conditions were very different from his home. There was no soft mattress to sleep on, no air conditioner that could cool or warm his body and no sense of comfort. Even in that place there were quite a lot of mosquitoes which made it even more uncomfortable to be there.

"Heh you, you just entered here?" Asked one of the prisoners to Arka.

Instead of answering his question, Arka only glanced at him briefly before looking down again. Arka's attitude certainly made several prisoners there feel annoyed at being ignored.

One of them got up and approached Arka. His hand was raised, as if ready to hit her. Until a few moments later one of the police officers came calling Arka's name.

"Someone wants to see you."

The policeman opened the holding cell door and brought Arka out.

"Arkana? You heard too, right? Isn't he the son of a successful businessman?"

"You're right, why is he in jail?"

"It's a good thing you didn't hit him, if you did, you'd be finished."

With shaky steps, Arka followed the policeman. Until he arrived at the visiting room. She could see that a man was waiting for her there. Arka honestly didn't recognize the man at all.

"Mr. Arka? Please have a seat. Please introduce me Joseph, I'm the lawyer your father asked to help you."

You can see Arka's shocked reaction when I found out that the man admitted that he was his father's lawyer. His father sent a lawyer to help him? Didn't he hear wrong? Arka thought.

Arka never expected his father to send a lawyer for him. Even though the last time he met his father, his father was so angry that he didn't even want to have a child like him anymore.

"Is it true that you sent my father?"

Mr. Joseph nodded. "I came here to ask you a few questions. I want to help you get out of here, but please answer the questions I will ask you later."

Arka chatted with Mr. Joseph for a long time. Until she felt that everything she had asked was enough, Mr. Joseph finally said goodbye and Arka returned to the detention cell.

Once back in the holding cell, Arka was welcomed by several members of the prisoners earlier. It was strange, earlier they seemed to dislike Arka but now suddenly they were very kind. Some even gave Arka their bedding. There was also someone who gave Arka a manual fan so that he wouldn't feel hot.
