Lillian's POV

They looked at me with their eyes filled with pity and it added to the guilt that I am feeling.

In their eyes I am innocent and nothing but a victim. I want to tell the truth and shout to this room that Marcus is innocent but I know it will cost me a lot.

I will lose everything once I did that. I no longer own my voice because everything that will come out of my mouth came from my father.

I became his puppet once again. I thought I am finally free from him but it turns out that he is still holding my string and my movements are still controlled by him.

"After reviewing all the presented evidence and verifying the witness's statement, Marcus Sullivan is found guilty for killing Martha Clark and for abducting and sexually abusing Lillian Hawthorne and is sentenced to five years, four months, and twenty-seven days of imprisonment,"

I heard a violent reaction from the audience saying that Marcus deserves the death penalty. They tried protesting but the judge already sealed
