Chapter 71

Lillian's POV

While having a conversation with Rose I heard Amari's cry so I immediately run inside.

I saw her climbing down the stair while rubbing her eyes.

I immediately walked towards her and carried her in my arms.

I brushed away her tears and removed strands of her hair that covers her face. "What's wrong my love?" I asked as I walked down the stair.

Amari stared at my face and then hugged me tightly with her little arms as if she is scared of letting me go.

Amari can't speak. According to her paediatrician, she has a speech delay. She's already four years old but she didn't even utter a single word or even call me Mommy.

I am hoping for that day to come and I will never lose hope that one day it will happen.

One day I will hear my daughter's voice. One day she will be able to call me Mom.

When we reached the living room I sat on the couch while Amari is sitting on my lap. "Do you want to go to the mall, my love?"

A smile grace on her lips then nod her head cutely.
