Lillian's POV

It's been three days since I received Marcus's message and up until now I am still waiting for the right time to meet him.

I can't leave the White House since Alexander has been guarding me. He is watching my every movement and I know once I leave he will have me tailed.

"I will be gone for a week for campaign preparation. I will leave later this evening,"

Happiness surged in my system when I heard his news. It seems like my prayer was heard. I had been waiting for this moment to happen.

I wanted to smile and jump out of joy but I stopped myself from doing any of that because Alexander was watching me.

I didn't show any emotion and just looked at him blankly. "Just tell me if you need my help,"

He looked at me intently as if assessing if I meant saying those words but after a while, he nodded his head and continued drinking his coffee.
