Lillian's POV

I was caught off guard.

Matthew looks like he already knows the truth so there is no point in denying it.

Will he tell Marcus about Amari?

I didn't voice out my thought but it seems like he can tell what is going on inside my mind.

"You are on the verge of downfall again Lillian," he said as he took a step closer and looked at me with his cold gaze. "Is that why you called Marcus? You will use Amari to save you from this mess?"

I shook my head aggressively to deny his accusation. Using my daughter to get Marcus's help didn't cross my mind. All I want is for Amari to be safe...nothing more.
