Chapter 87

Lillian's POV

I can feel him throwing glances on my side but I ignore it and focus all my attention on mopping the floor.

He already finished his coffee but he's still sitting at the table.

When he stood up I felt relieved because I thought he would leave already but I was wrong.

After a while, he came back holding a coffee in his hand.

I looked at him...confused and when he caught me looking he raised his eyebrows so I immediately looked away.

Why is he still here?

It's been an hour.

Doesn't he have work to do?

Or maybe he wants to watch how miserable my life turned out?

When I was done mopping the floor I started cleaning the table.

I could feel my back aching but I ignored it and continued doing my work.

I need to leave a good impression on the owner of this coffee shop...this is the only store that accepted me after I applied countless times.

While I was wiping the table I heard Marcus's voice. I don't want to eavesdrop but I unintentionally heard the conversation.

"I'll visit her
