Chapter 90

Lillian's POV

I waited for his return.

I watched as the clock hands moved and every second felt like an eternity.

I can't do anything.

All I did was wait and pray that once Marcus returned, he would be with Amari.

When I heard the door swung open I immediately ran towards it and there I saw Marcus carrying Amari.

"Mommy,"

Tears fell from my eyes when I heard my daughter's voice calling me.

"Mommy," she said as she hugged me tightly.

I caressed her back to calm her down. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry baby,"

I keep apologizing to my daughter.

I failed to protect her from those people. I let them take her away from me.

When her sobs subsided I broke off the hug and made her look at me.

I wiped the tears from her eyes and removed the few strands of hair that covers her face.

"Mommy I'm scared," she said pouting her lips.

I smiled at her and gently caressed her cheeks. "I'm sorry I failed to protect you. I'm sorry."

I hugged her once again as I blamed myself for what happened to her.
