Chapter 98

Marcus's POV

I turned my head and there I saw Lillian leaning against the door while watching us.

When our eyes met she immediately wiped something on her face and smiled at me.

"Dinner's ready," she said.

I nod my head and turn to Alice and Amari who are still occupied in playing. "Let's go, dinner's ready," I said.

I carried Amari in my arms while Alice snaked her arms into mine like she always does.

When we reached the door I saw Lillian's face. She's smiling but she can't hide the sadness in her eyes.

"I'll carry Amari,"

She tried taking Amari from me but I didn't let her. "It's fine, I'll carry her,"

She let out a deep breath and nodded her head.

She leads the way towards the kitchen.

I watched her as she prepared the table.

I was about to stand up to help her when Alice held my hand. "I'll help her," she said standing up and started helping Lillian.

After that, we settled on the dining table.
