Chapter 96

Marcus's POV

I saw how her gaze shifted to the ring on Alice's finger.

She stared at it for quite some time and when she turned her head at me I saw pain cross her eyes but she hid it by smiling.

"Congratulations," she said.

I felt my chest tightened while looking at her.

She must have felt betrayed.

After confessing what I truly felt about her last night here I am engaged to Alice.

I don't know what's happening to me but I want to explain my side and tell her what happened last night.

I drive at full speed filled with rage and pain.

Why I am still stuck on her?

I should hate her but the more I force myself to hate Lillian the more I am being drawn to her.

For five years I tried convincing myself that Lillian didn't love me at all and I should forget her but those fucking five years vanished in thin air when I saw her again.

I harshly wiped the tears that fell from my eyes before stepping out of my car.
